Even though I had video cameras for years at the time, the only option was to transfer my shots to VHS tape.
Thankfully, at some point, my friend Erik installed a cracked version of an editing program called "Premiere," which cost a lot of money. This gave me the possibility to edit and add effects to my videos. It was amazing to have the ability to edit as if I were working for a TV station or film company.
The most incredible feature was the picture-in-picture effect, which made me feel like a pro.
I edited random sequences and some concert footage from touring with our band Mechanics in Ini, which ultimately turned into a sort of documentary inspired by Radiohead's "Meeting People is Easy" documentary. In reality, I didn't know what I was doing; I just wanted to make videos about music.
My dream was to become a "rockumentarist."
To pursue my dream, twenty years later, I am preparing three, possibly four documentaries about Greenlandic bands and music history. More information about that will come later.
