I was on the verge of cutting my kitchen faucet off but luckily found your video. It took me 20 seconds to get that thing out. Thank you so much.

🤣😂🤣😂 I have a different scenario but I’m about to cut something off also. This method usually works, but I had to cut a slit at the top then use a flat head.

Reckon this will work on a smallish Allen key screw? On a wheel for a brake disc???

I got in too much of a hurry (my impatience is almost always the culprit!) and stripped out a set screw in the hand-wheel pulley on one of my vintage sewing machines. This video saved my bacon! Thanks!

Ordered a new handle that was $65 and then found this video a minute later. Took me longer to round up the tools than it took to get the set screw out. Cancelled my order five minutes after placing it. I really appreciate you sharing your technique!

The miniscule recessed allen screw in the cold lever of the mixer tap had corroded enough to stick. Trying to turn it using the allen key was impossible. This tip has just saved us a massive plumber's bill and ripping the kitchen sink out. Thank you so much ❤

I can't believe how easily this worked. I was just about to drill out the set screw in the axle collar for my go-kart, when I Googled how to remove a stripped head set screw and came across your video. Drilling would have been a disaster I'm sure. This took less than a minute and the set screw came out easy. Thanks so very much. You're a genius.

Thank you so much, you saved my embroidery machine. Moving this screw means I don’t have a 15 needle 300 pound paperweight.

Was in the middle of drilling through when I took a break and found this video. Then tried it and was able to take out the screw after 2 weeks of trying.

I've heard that the glue-like product called TANK BOND would also be helpful in this type of setting.

Always Always Always apply anti seize to set screws before threading them into their mating threaded hole to avoid the problem in the first place. When a screw thread meets the resistance of the shaft it goes up against, the clearance necessary for the thread to be able to mesh with the threads in the hole is taken up setting up a potential gaulling situation upon removal. A film of anti seize between the threads is your best hedge against this when the time comes to loosen the threads. Anti seize also provides protection from moisture in the atmosphere causing corrosion of the threads over time says the old machine shop instructor.

Thanks! Will silicone faucet grease work for a set screw on a shower handle?
@37yearsofanythingisenough398 ай бұрын
@@jpablo700any grease is better than nothing if there is a chance of corrosion or galling , however anti seize has additives that the grease won’t have. A small can of anti seize will last most people a lifetime because you do not need to paint the threads because as they mate the anti seize is carried by the thread into the space between them……..it’s like the old Brylcream ad…..”A little dab will do ya.”
