Agreed. The contrast is so appealing. Who is Mel Rose? She does vocals on more than just this album, correct? Is that her real name? There's virtually no information online about her (doesn't help that you get a bunch of "Melrose Place" stuff when you search). There's a DJ named Mel Rose, but I don't think that's the same person, is it? There's a professional solo artist who is a singer for hire (and a photo). She also plays acoustic guitar. It shows all the artists she covers, and most is blues/jazz based stuff. Is that her? If not, I don't even know what she looks like.

@@markcurtis2931 Her real name is Melissa Rosenberg and she's a singer and a music producer. Works for Sony Playstation as a studio operations coordinator and she's worked on titles such as GoW Ragnarok. She's a solo artist as well as a vocalist for Mechina and a guitarist for A Dark Halo.

Yeah same, nothing really tops Acheron for me, had absolutely everything on that album. Some of the tracks out of Embers and Siege are brilliant but there is far too much 10 minutes of 'WEEEEE OOOOOOOHHH WAAAAAAAAA OHHHHHH' in the rest. Does my head in.

Fuck, this is good, harder, harsher stuff, intense, dramatic! Hope we get a lot of this in the new album, last album had a lot of what I consider weaker songs, but As Virtue Meets Steel was amazing and refreshing, so it's not like I lost hope, I'm eager to hear more.

I have been a fan of this band since Tyrannical Resurrection. I bought Cenotaph right off the album's distribution on Bandcamp, but I would have rather thrown 10 times as much money at The world we lost. I've been a big fan of Mechina until now, but now I won't be waiting for the end of the year to enjoy their music. I hate to complain about art, but it was such a shock to me in the wrong direction. I know some of you may favor Cenotaph, but I thought I liked Siege relatively well and not so much Vanator, but the new album was nothing compared to that. joe, thank you for all you have done.

Sorry but I don't agree here. Been listening to some of their albums and they all sound the same. In the end I only kept CONQUEROR. Don't get me wrong, they (he?) make good music but it sounds too generic, there is no main melody most of the time.

@@s_t_s4846 I understand what you are talking about, there is almost always no common melody, there is a common theme of the album, sometimes each song is a separate story in the context of the album, therefore the sound is different.Personally, I love the music because of the atmosphere, thanks to the beautiful guitar riffs of the melodic symphony and the stunning vocals, a feeling of epic space opera is created

One of my favorite things that certain artists do, is tell a story through the tone of the music. The sound tells the story, along with the lyrics. You can really feel the battle, especially during the battle at 4:46 and the uplift after. VICTORY!

A very strong single to herald Cenotaph. It takes good elements of both Xenon and Embers and mixes it up in a cybernetic package. If there is enough variation on vocals, then Cenotaph could become the new Embers for me.

@@ktmdza2776 Xenon is love Xenon is life, Xenon has the best opening track period. Progenitor and Venator have the best ending tracks. I've been here since Cepheus single, but my hot take is that Venator had the best dramatic pacing of any album yet. And I do like the Siege/Venator stlye more than the Embers/Telesterion style. would love some more Dave though, but Anna Hel was a good addition, really sells Enyos character, and the last albums were mostly about her anyways.
