Now see this is why Rasalhague is the most turbo based faction in all of BT. They moved heaven, hell and earth for their independence, finally gain their independence for some 20 years, gets it shit kicked in and lose over 90% of its territory to some weirdos, have one of their last 7 remaining planets be the battlefield for the decisive turning point in the entire Clam invasion, kill the ilKhan and unite with the Snow Teddies to become the Raslhague Dominion. Despite all the centuries of hardship, they perservered and became the most badass faction in all of BT

I wanna be blunt. We need more story lines like this in the game. Seriously jam this sucker with as much story as possible. The game is good but the universe it inhabits is vast. Keep these types of storied campaigns rolling out and I'll buy every single one. Obviously there are other personal things I would like to see added to the game but lore and story is what keeps me invested.

When they were making the new MW game, they stated they were approaching things backwards compared to the old series of game In those days, a Story driven game was made first, then a Mercenaries type game. SO the next game, already confirmed, will be a heavy single player/co-op Story driven game. I hope they have things like this and previous great stories like content in it, which Im sure they will, also a lot more mechs, maybe even the Clans who knows lol

Is it the Legend of the Kestrel Lancerse or the Heroes of the Inner Sphere that has that stretch of campaign where you're trapped on the planet? That campaign was the most striking and interesting part of playing the game for me. Scrambling for repairs for my dwindling garage of mechs from mission to mission with no ability to leave, trying to decide if I should field a full lance or let one mech sit to the side so I can ensure I'll have a guaranteed fully repaired mech for the next mission. By the last mission every mech in my lance was damaged or missing a component and I had to make do, it was so rad. I want more of that, gritty, multiple month long campaigns where I'm cycling mechwarriors and mechs in and out, scrambling for repairs and rest, only a single week at most between missions.

She only did that because she thought the guy she liked was dead, as opposed to inside the warship she rammed and on a fast-track to becoming a clanner. Honestly not my preferred end to the character, as she was established with her character dynamic between her father and Phelan, it would have been interesting to see her reaction when Phelan singlehandedly forces her father to surrender Rasalhague without a fight.

@@wilsonriley1856 I respect your view and I hope you don't be think that I'm being mean or aggressive when I write the following, because you're clearly well read on the subject, I respect that, and I agree with you that more could have been done with Tyra and Phelan. That being said, while that's all true, simultaneously it doesn't change anything I've said. She died a heroes death, directly made the IS comeback possible by giving the sphere a year to organize under Focht, tech up, and begin to even the score while the clans elected an ilKhan dead set on shattering the Crusader faction completely. There's also a lot of all-but-said-outright "hints" that Focht and Ulric/Vlad were colluding to that end, but I suppose that's neither here nor there, quiaff? Also, Phelan forcing a bloodless surrender is a hell of a way to show respect to the world she died defending, and a slap in the face to the father who was too cowardly to. Rasalhague remained intact, it's citizens didn't suffer most of the horrific depredations that many planets did, and eventually integrated nearly seamlessly into one of the best factions in the later sphere, the Ghost Bear Dominion. Basically, all babbling aside, I guess my point is that an incredibly brave, insanely badass, and wildly effective act done for questionable reasons is stil, in the end, an incredibly brave, insanely badass, and wildly effective act. Anyway I hope you don't read any aggression or argumentiveness into this, I'm actually super happy to talk with another fan of Tyra Miraborg. She's one of my top five favorite BT character, they released a new model of her personal Shilone just last year and it's currently sitting on my shelf two feet to my left as I type. we already fought many of other merc groups in base game ,heroes of the inner sphere and legend of kestler lancers and from top of my head they were at least: big mac, waco rangers , northwind highlanders , cliftons rangers , lexington combat group and many others , they just werent as much exposed as other mercs will be in new dlc , they kinda blurred in with their employers in missions where they were present. usually ryana or fahad will note their involvement. Also shame we didnt saw wolfs dragoons YET, wonder if i could farm juicy lostech and rare mechs form them -marauder 2, anihilators, nighstars, etc (also making the cantina quests for those mechs possible) also worth to note that in carrer mode outreach and northwind are the systems closest to rep 15 conflict zones so we will meet dragoons and highlanders in late game a lot -at least i hope so.

@@Aladine11 Yes and No, Yes, we fought other merc groups HOWEVER they didn't really serve as much in the gameplay assets department as their mechs would just be painted the colors of the faction you were fighting against in the contract. No, because as mentioned they weren't exactly gameplay assets, now their being used for gameplay assets in a way that makes sense as there's literally thousands of Merc Outfits in the IS some of which we only hear about through the news or the aforementioned missions where they are named dropped but aren't made to look any different to set them apart, now they're their own gameplay element where if they see you in their area (likely because their doing a contract of their own in that area) they can decide if they want to either aid you in yours or be a wrench in your plans and pick a fight with you.

the mission types and such look more interesting then a few mechs added, not trying to defend them only adding the crusader just saying. And as far as the mods go, I have only tried YAML(clan pack) and Clan invasion. Clan invasion was very wonky needs a lot of work. YAML was ok but the mechs do not show proper battle damage and they don't show teh proper weapons etc when you equip them.

Messing around with Rasalhague cost them an ilKhan (Leo Showers), cost them a FULL YEAR to elect a new one in Ulric Kerensky who was dead set on breaking the crusaders, which gave the IS time to regroup and reorganize under Focht. Tyra Miraborg's last run is pretty much the moment that allowed the Clans to be defeated. I'm a Clan Fanboy through and through but you are *really* not giving Rasalhague it's due here.

That's probably the next game they are working on. They know the huge demand for clan invasion, but stated it won't be dlc. They want to do it justice and have it be its own project. So more than likely the new Mechwarrior game They will announce this year is going to be that.

If you start a career in 3015, yes you can. While you can do all of the Heroes of the Inner Sphere mini-arcs on your own time, and the Call to Arms campaign simply becomes available after around 3025, the only time-sensitive campaign (as of this writing) is the major meat and potatoes of Kestrel Lancers in 3026 and 3028-9. This DLC I imagine is going to be about the much less talked about Ronin War in 3034, so it may be only the second time-sensitive campaign to become available.

I was silently judging you but since you haven't gone full MechDad with a Davion profile picture and you're fond of the Ghost Bears and the FRR (and the Ghost Bear-Rasalhague Dominion, I hope) I'm giving you a tentative thumbs up, haha. Just know that your fedrats won't be able to keep riding on the achievement coat-tails of Victor Steiner-Davion for much longer. It's already been 28 years ;) (Also the ilClan era plotline seems to be building up to the Davions, either Julian or his successor, going full pants-on-head-dumb Stephen Amaris on the new state of relative unity. I'm pretty interesting to see where it goes. What Caleb the r*pist monster did WILL get out at some point, and that'll almost guaranteed start a war.)

Hello, All. I'm a retired U.S Army veteran and I was stationed in Erlangen West Germany back in the late 80s before we left for Desert Storm. I remember buying my Commodore 128D at Nuremberg PX and getting the OG Battletech. I've played every Mechwarrior game since. You guys did an amazing job. I'm sad to hear this is the last DLC for MW5M but thrilled to hear an all new Mechwarrior game is coming. My hope is that it's the Clans invasion of the Inner Sphere. I do have 4 suggestions that will make the game hold true to the Battletech Universe. 1. You should be able to knock down a Mech/be knocked down. 2. Have the ability to go passive so we can sneak up on the enemy. 3. Lose the silly avatars of the AI pilots. Mechwarriors don't wear any of those weird, goofy outfits. It's hot inside a Mech. They wear their neuro helmets and coveralls at the most. 4. Have multiplayer games. 4v4, 8v8, 16v16, and show which teams are best. Cheers.

Been eyeing off MW5 since release, but I'd held off until about a month ago. Haven't been disappointed since, and I'm looking forward to this DLC too. The 2018 Strategy is nice, but there's nothing as visceral as punching the head off an enemy mech in first person.

I got the DLC, but when the chance came up to hop in to what I saw as a very long and very hard multi-mission operation of unknown length, I decided to ignore that. I'm still working on upgrading all my most used mechs from mediums to heavys as I wander and stumble around learning the game. I saw some of Baradul's gameplay of the expansion, and he used the story start that gave him a bunch of preselected mechs. It looked to be very difficult and made with a very specific kind of intensive challenge in mind, and, to be honest, I've been using MW5 as a much more casual "hangout and growth" style of game. Basically a relaxed and more polished version of Mount And Blade, or Heroes of Might and Magic, with a growing customizable player controlled force on the field.

There will never be a VR DLC. PGI promised VR support, but as usual backed out on it near launch. But I have good news for you! There is a mod for it on Nexus that I helped a little with. Search for VRWarrior, it hasn't been updated in a while, but it still works as of me playing it the other day.

My merc outfit's name is The Rasalhague Jomsvikings... All my mechs are called after norse gods, both vanir and aesir... I never fight against Rasalhague and have hero status with them... Safe to say this DLC is right down my alley

Do you mean when Tyra Miraborg singlehandedly cripples the Clan flagship, kills their ilKhan, buys the sphere an entire year to reorganize under Focht while the Clans elect an anti-Crusader ilKhan, undermines the Crusader ideology merely by having existed and being the unquestionable even by the smoke jaguars example of Inner Sphere courage and worthiness, caused and given all the above basically singlehandedly made Tukkayid even possible? Because that seems pretty badass and worth celebrating. Also the fact that Phelan Kell/Ward/Wolf got them to surrender bloodlessly as an honor to Tyra and a slap in the face to her coward father meant Rasalhague was spared the devastation and deprivation of warfare, meaning that they were basically seamlessly integrated with the Ghost Bears. Becoming the Ghost Bear-Rasalhague Dominion, which is like a top 3 best faction in modern BattleTech. Rasalhagues story is one of nonstop badassery. If not by her leaders, then absolutely by her people. They have always been and will always be ten times cooler than the Lyran and Draconis jagoffs who may have won militarily, may have occupied their territory, but were never able to break them. Keep the faith, brother

@@garycannon4644 So heres the real deal with Rasalhague once you get past the memery that the fan boys cavort in: Rasalhague was conquered by the combine real early in the setting's history; pretty much at the end of the Terran Alliance period when all the stellar powers were starting to blob up and as such spent 700 years as part of the combine, never really giving up their cultural identity. Now, after the 4th succession war the combine was in rough shape and was the most likely target for the nascent Federated Commonwealth since they were basically cut off from the rest of the galaxy by them, and Theodore Kurita (then director of military affairs) was approached by the head of Comstar with an offer: in addition to discounted rates on communications "in event of war" as well as getting handed a buttload of star league era mechs in return for recognizing the independance of Rasalhague (which was still in the combines favor since they barely controlled any of it at that point after the lyrans pushed into their territory during the 4th succession war) and thus creating a buffer state between them and the rest of the Fedcom on the lyran border. When this was made official a few things happened in relatively short order: 1. The local combine warlord refused to acknowledge the state. 2. The duke of Tamar in the Lyran commonwealth refused to cede worlds he'd aquired during the 4th. 3. Mercenaries cited poorly written contracts that basically made it so they weren't obligated to fight. With their situation in the crapper, Rasalhague got support from the least likely source: the Draconis Combine. Theodore Kurita led his newly minted "ghost regiments" into th fight, declaring any combine forces that didn't immediately surrender Ronin to be hunted down and exterminated. This freed up enough forces for the Kungsarme to evict the Lyrans from their territory. And thus Rasalhague owes it's existance to the Combine.

Assisting Rasalhague had a knockon effect in part of the Lyran commonwealth known as the isle of skye who had been similarly cantankerous in their membership in a larger state who wound up demonstrating and posturing for independance as they had done numerous times throughout the centuries. While in the past the Archon would have been able to mollify them with diplomacy and negotiation, Hanse davion chose to respond by cracking down, which meant that time was wasted on an internal conflict and military forces were lost in the process since Skye had valuable elite troops that didn't appreciate Davion forces rolling in to occupy them.

Davion fanboys have been coasting on Victor Marysue Steiner-Davion's successes for like 30 years now, can't wait for them to be the ones to fuck up the new-new Star League by assassinating the ilClan leaders or some bonehead thing like that. Their new golden boy keeps suffering enormous loss of life and throwing mercenaries into the grinder for very little gain, it's bound to happen eventually.

@@orbitalbutt6757 Hanse's biggest issue was that his primary motivation was smashing everything that was outside of the Federated commonwealth which ~given the first half of the 31st century~ isn't exactly unreasonable since there were: 1. The kuritans who were responsible for the kentares massacre. 2. The Confederacy who have the most brutal intelligence network and tried some straight up saturday morning cartoon villian nonsense with a clone of Hanse. 3. The taurian Concordat who are basically like a Paranoid ultra conservative US militia that are obsessed with the idea that the davion's are coming for them and never actually signed the ares convention so are incredibly cool with nukes. The reason this was a problem was because he wound up responding way too hard to things like Skye which meant that he was stuck in stupid quagmires. As to the ilclan era Davion's; they're basically the new Cappellans in that they're a burnt out state that isn't going to be in a position to do much other then play defense for a generation or more and that's assuming that they don't wind up in a civil war.

This might sound ironic but I've stop playing this game about 2 years ago because I saw so much potential on it... why stop if like it so much? Well, I'm just about to go all in with the whole simulator setup (hotas joystick, pedals, etc) and wanted to restart the contact with the community, I was a little afraid everything was dead but here I'm, waiting for new DLCs! what a surprise, loking forward to connect via Discord with few people
