Great job! I remember being caught up in the Star Wars frenzy, as an 8 year old in NYC. I also remember it leaping from #8 to #1 the week of October 1, 1977 in Billboard. I was happy for 2 weeks, until that darn Debby Boone song took over the radio......
@DJDiscoCat4 жыл бұрын
"You Light Up My Life" is an excellent performance. Debby was never able to replicate it, EVER and nothing else she did had the same vibe. A remade version of that song was on Stingray music and it was horrible. I even emailed them and the next thing I knew, it was replaced by the original version she did. Its a schlocky song but her vocal saved it.

May 25 1977 New York CIty 44 st and Broadway manhattan Lowes Astor Plaza . There was excitement in the air .The movie theater envelop in one giant cloud of marijuana smoke that transported everyone to a galaxy far far away. Nobody knew what to expect of this Movie called Star Wars. Then the theater light dim everything became quiet and the opening monologue started to roll everyone was like what is this . No one never seen anything like this before. At the end of the movie everybody was standing up cheering . At that moment you knew you just taken part of cinema history in the making. It felt magical. My other Star Wars story is I work in a deli on Madison Ave one block from the Central Park Zoo . Actress Carrie Fisher use to come in all the time for a Hawaiian Punch tropical drink . She was one of the sweetest celebrities I ever met . She once asked me what is my name with a big Hollywood smile . Very down to earth person . Lots of people tell me that I am lucky to have met her . And of course as a teenager I used to get in the best Disco in town and dance the night away to this disco hit .
