There are some campuses that have student housing options for their med students though...just depends on the area and each student's needs =]

hey! I'm a viewer in 8th grade and I know that it sounds pretty naive to say that I've chosen medicine as my path, but I've come to a pretty serious fork in the road. I was excepted into Michael Debakey Highschool for Health Professions. Its a pretty great magnet school in Houston with great opportunities (rotations in the houston medical center, doctor visits, great health science classes), but I only have one concern. I can handle the excessive work and get respectable grades while doing so but there will a lot of competition there. I might not graduate in the top 10% as opposed to the school that I would regularly be zoned to I would most likely be in the top 2%. Statistically I won't look as good to colleges based on my class percentile. Granted, my goal (as of now) is to get into a good college/med-school. Do you think its worth it? I know its hard to advise me because you don't really know the specifics, but what would you do in this kind of situation?

Don't worry about class percentiles, by the time you get to college you probably wouldn't remember it. Its great to see the drive that you have, just do your best in school and do what makes you happy. -M
