One of my most played games ever. When my parents weren't around I'd crank up the volume on my surround system. You can not say into words to describe how amazing the sounds and music are for this game. To me it is THEE best sound track ever for a video game.

Yeah, in fact the best Medal of Honor game IMO, Allied Assault was developed by the company that the founders of Infinity Ward worked in prior and their work on the game influenced the decision to have CoD use the Quake III Team Arena engine. Shame they didn't take more of the talent. The original 2 CoD games actually aren't that bad but the series still had a rather negative effect in general on the industry. -_-

4:38 That's one of the features that I felt needed improving imo. I mean it was cool how the enemies threw your grenades back at you, but one thing that really annoyed me is that it would reset the grenade's timer upon doing so. Making it virtually impossible to get multiple kills with a grenade. But I suppose I should let it slide, considering that the technology back then wasn't as advanced as it is today. And despite that one flaw, it was still an awesome game and it's replay value still holds up to this day!

The OSS always reminds me of Clint Eastwood's character in Where Eagles Dare, who was in the OSS. James Bond was written by Ian Fleming, who was a spy during the war. Interestingly, when he wrote it and up until a lot of the movies were made, MI6 wasn't officially revealed by the government.

nothing's wrong about it, in fact i love the first reboot. It's just that i really miss WWII fps. With Medal of Honor and Brothers in Arms gone MIA, and Call of Duty became...well Call of Duty. My Grandfather was a member of the OSS during WWII. I never got to ask him about his time since he died in 1974, 2 years before I was born. I do know why he joined. He was scheduled to fly out to Pearl Harbor 2 days after it was attacked and lost his best friend on it. He bugged his CO about it after the creation of the OSS until he gave him the OK just to shut him up lol. We got his military records and I've never seen so many things redacted on any (means they marked them as classified)

Garet Rooks World War II was a interesting war. I followed it quite a bit. Even the lead up to it from the end of the first world war with Hitler's rise to power is interesting. Four crosshairs that weren't over the soldier said "You Die" and the centre one over the soldier said "You Live". Very simple ad but pretty much summed up what to expect from the game. Okay, this has to be maybe my favorite game of all time right next to Super Mario World. I mean, I think I have played this game more than any other game in the world. I love it to death. However, I am also a WWII historian, which is whole other thing. You can't say "A really good history lesson" about this game. Dude, it's a videogame. 90% of it is fictional. The only things that bare resemblance to actual history is the fact that it's in WWII and you're fighting Germans, or Nazis. There was never a railway gun named 'Greta'. There was never a Fort Schmerzen or Colonel Muller. And the events that were real such as the Rjukan Hydro Plant sabotage and Merker's Salt Mines of stolen art were never perpetrated by the OSS. And the Nordhausen Mittelwerk facility only manufactured V1 and V2 weapons, not launch them. And the facility was never attacked by commandos, it was bombed by the allies. So yeah, I love Medal of Honor, but it is no history lesson.
@ChocoDrake9 жыл бұрын
Michael Akkerman I think what Norm is trying to say is the game is a good history lesson in the modernization of the first-person shooter and WWII games in general. This is the game that started the chain of franchises such as Call of Duty, Brothers in Arms, and Company of Heroes.

The rail gun is real but it isnt a rail gun its a mortar called the V3 so your wrong dude (hehehe i watch discovery channel😆)
@Theakker3B9 жыл бұрын
Well congratulations because you're the one who is wrong. The V3 was not a mortar and it was nothing like a railway gun. The V3 was a prototype artillery piece where multiple charges were placed in the barrel to increase projectile velocity. And the Germans did have multiple railway guns (Gustav, Dora, Leopold, just to name a few) but never one named Greta. And who gives a shit if you watch the discovery channel?
