For a fancition adaption... Joseph Griffin would frantically try to reach to save Davis, but the croc still eats Davis. Even then, there wasn't anything Joe Grififn or Adams could do to save him.

I used to panic a lot whenever I would encounter one back then. LOL! This was one of the most entertaining Medal of Honor games I ʼve ever played, though. The difficulty was satisfying enough to keep me hooked for week-even months, actually.

Loved this game. Used to play it with my grandad every time I visited him. This was the hardest level we could never get past. We just stuck to 1v1 multiplayer mode. So many memories. My favorite map was the baseball field.

@@Leon--Kennedy they tried to simulate what the marines had at the time. USMC was still using the Springfield rifle when they landed in Guadalcanal unlike the Army they already had the M1 Garand

I always hated this level. It's so hard to see, the save points are few and far between and incredibly difficult to find. I always found myself lost several times having to look up a walkthrough and totally taking me out of the experience. You can't have this many dead-ends in a game.

God, I remember i had the three pack of European Assault, Frontlines and Rising Sun on my PS2 when I was a little kid. European Assault I could never beat, Frontlines my disc broke and would get stuck on the train mission, so that just left me with this game and boy oh boy did I play the crap out of it :) this was my favorite mission. I loved how you could just get lost and find random side objectives, like the indigenous villagers. What this game lacked in polish it made up for in character.

You know I though getting every medal for Pacific Assault was hard, because you have to do it all in one playthrough, since there are no profiles or level select. But now I realize nothing beats Rising Sun, when to get the medal for this level, you need not only to complete the two bonus objectives, but to finish the level with 75% accuracy and taking less than 50 hits. This would be hard enough on PC, let alone on console with very limited checkpoints. Devs felt very sadistic apparently.

There was actually a famous battle that happened at a place called "alligator creek" now - a lot of places have been erroneously named by GI's so that doesn't necessarily mean they have gators there (I'm leaning towards no) but there is definitely a place named that!

Looking closely at around 24:35, since one of the soldiers was close to the radio, it's safe to assume that he was genuinely trying to call for reinforcements (although whether that actually happens is uncertain). Either that or some other Japanese soldier somewhere was calling for reinforcements and it was heard on the radio in that room.

At one of the Japanese camps, the first or the second one you come across, behind the house there is a Guadalcanal tribesman being tortured and interrogated by the Japanese. If you rescue him he will show you a secret passage

first the springfield 03 is not the weapon to use up close (close being anything closer than sniper distance) and also what's with gamers obsessing over reloading after every single shot? right off the bat you had 2 enemies, missed 1st shot, and reloaded before killing the 2 of them when you had enough ammo in the gun already...i see gamers like this at the shooting range who practice with real guns putting a fresh mag in after shooting 2-3 rounds and it's ridiculous i want to smack them

Nah, standardized Japanese rounds/shells consisted of 6.5mm, 7.7mm, 13.2mm, 8mm and 20mm at the time with even Japan's 50.cal rounds not being compatible for the browning machine guns used by the allied throughout the war.

Well, those two guys don't *exactly* capture the airfield all by themselves. Notice beginning on 0:56 Gunny briefed that the main assault would take place at dawn. Your primary mission was taking out the ammo dump and to harrass the Japanese. Everything else would be taken care of by the main force.
