My 16 year old Granddaughter recently met Leroy at her school and was so impressed with his story that she had her picture taken with him and texted it to me. Keep you the work with the youth. They are our future.

As a retired Army veteran, I've personally met Mr. Petry here in Fort Lewis, WA. He is quite a humble person. Glad to hear that he's doing ok. MSG Petry exemplifies the importance of leadership and the will to survive. The U.S Army Rangers "lead the way" mentality serves as a leadership standard for all Noncommission Officers (NCO). It doesn't matter what job you're doing in the military because our primary job will always be an infantryman. I'm honored to have met him. To all veterans past present and future... thank you and God bless. 🇺🇸

How is it that only 514 people have liked this video in seven years? Are we done as a country?
@edwinramos85323 жыл бұрын
Our enemies would never have a warrior like SFC Petry and that is why we are who we are. I used him as example of what a soldier and citizen should be. My JROTC cadets were impress with it
@Doesitmatter113 Жыл бұрын
In some cases, true, but our enemies also fight for a cause, just ones we don't agree with. That doesn't mean that their military hadn't had bravery, sacrifice, and honor as you think we do. Now, that being said, I'm not talking about al-Qaeda or Taliban, or any other terrorist entity.

I look at the sacrifices this man made and then look at the complete mess of the withdrawal. WTF.
@Doesitmatter113 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I can agree. However, if we look at all the failures that caused this mess that originated centuries ago, it's all in vain. Afghanistan has been burying people for centuries. We're still paying the cost of treaties, decisions, wars from the 19th century when most of the world was carved up by imperialism on a global scale. I watch a lot of documentaries on WW1 and realize that everyone involved, and all their children, are all dead now, but we pay the price for their ideological immaturity. Even to this day, they say it will take over 300 years to clean up around Verdun, France, because of all the lead and unexploded ordinance still buried in the forests and farms there. So dangerous that the "RedZone" is prohibited to civilians in 2022, 103 years after it ended.

100% RED/WHITE/BLUE blood in this American Hero. Brother I was with 2/325 Charlie Co. 82nd Airborne Division. In 1985-89. They're called White Falcons or something like that now but we chewed same dirt at Airborne school & Ranger indoc program. But you are my hero brother....

Try and describe the worst POSSIBLE day in your life where you're going to die along with your comrades. There is no comparison! I'm a liberal. Every one of these Medal of Honorees is special, and should be revered, not politicized. He's a hero. No doubt! Stick taps and salutes to every one of them!
