What is the best way to get around the city of Medellín. One thing I love about the city is that it is a MEDIUM size. It's not a bustling metropolis city like NYC or Mexico City or Bogotá. That means taxis are your friends here. But the metro is also a very reliable means of transportation and is accessible from most parts of the city.
Find out in this video which taxi apps are most commonly used here and why I don't like taking the yellow taxis.

The Metro is faster during the morning or evening rush hours if your destinations are a short walking distance from the Metro stations.

Don't know what is cheap to you, but being a pensioner, I am always looking to stretch pennies or in this case pesos, as far as I can, without being compromising to my driver. That being said, I use indrive for most of my jaunts, but I found a rental car deal for $125 for a week in Medellin with insurance. I guess that might also be an option, at least for me it is, since I am older and a lot of walking and waiting (except in traffic) is not as desirable.

Hi Loren the best (if time is important) is a UBER ,inDriver , DiDi they have your prearranged and agreed upon rate which I found to always be under a Yellow Taxi rate and the public transportation Metro or Metro cable and Bus system are very good also and super cheap ! Either way transportation in Medellin is very very inexpensive !

Hi Joe! Right you are. I have found that among the four apps I mentioned that Didi in general always has the lowest prices. Another thing you can always do during rush hour is to offer a slightly lower price when requesting an inDriver and wait until someone takes your offer. Thanks for your comment! - Lauren

@@living_global Yes, that is super easy to get as well by just approaching the ticket booth. But to get the Civica card you would need a cédula so for tourists that wouldn't work, but yes obviously the metro is super fast, reliable, and very clean too might I add... 😊 One day I'll have to visit and make a video showing how to navigate the metro!

@@MonteLogic The idea was to give quick but important information and 'minute' is a pretty common word. Coupling it with Medellin, I don't think it's too much of a coincidence and somebody else could have thought of it off the top of their head too. It's not all that creative or original haha and it's not like either of us has some sort of copyright on that tag or that his segment is something well known in the expat community like Medellin Guru was for instance.
