Medellin, Atanasio Girardot Stadium #27 - Nacional vs Millionarios - 101 days in Colombia.

Our Canadian family went to Estadio Atanasio Girardot to see the Nacional vs Millonarios! We were told by many people not to wear our Millonarios jersey because it would be dangerous , so we bought some Nacional jerseys to fit in. It was a playoff game. The atmosphere was great. The pre game party was off the charts! If you ever go to Medellin, you should definitely go to a Nacional football match.

We passed through the city, but we didn’t stop. That day, we travelled from Mompox to San Gil. It was the longest bus trip of our whole trip! In hindsight, we should have spent one night in Bucaramanga.

Haha. You are right. I did say that. Bogotá was so impressive. So many cheering fans. Medellin had a great stadium with amazing views, but there were less people for sure. Do you go to El Campin very often?

@@McClintonfamilydventures In 2024 I'm going to be a yearly pass holder. You mention in your video of Bogota that El Campin was old, and you're right. The good news is that starting next year, the stadium will be demolished in parts and rebuilt completely. I really enjoyed your video in El Campin, thanks, the stadium was almost full.

Nice! I would love to have season tickets to the millonarios. El campin is legit. Great venue. It’s cool there are getting a new building, but sometimes the old buildings have so much charm and memories! Hopefully the new building will keep the charm from the old el campin stadium.

@@McClintonfamilydventures Yes, there is a lot of good history in that stadium, but it comes a time when you have to renovate, I've seen that here in the U.S especially with baseball stadiums. I really enjoyed all your videos of Colombia, 100 days traveling all over Colombia, you must of set a world guinness record, your kids are going to be forever grateful with all those good memories and experiences, God Bless.

No es que sea muy peligroso ir al estadio con camisa de otro equipo, lo que pasa es que hay gente que si es muy fanatica, entonces pueda que te digan cosas, si vas con camisa de otro equipo que no sea el local. Que te molesten por ejemplo y te digan perdedor, entonces si es mejor así ir con camisas del local, porque finalmente vamos es a disfrutar. That was very brave from you guys to attend that dangerous venue... The green ones are famous for being the team of the biggest drug dealer in the story of the world. BTW, going to a soccer stadium in CO is not as pleasant as it should be. Violent, dangerously passionate fans yelling, cursing, and being intimidating with other fans (even supporting the same team) is not the best idea for having fun, even more if you have kids. I just cannot conceive that you can't wear your team's t-shirt because you are in danger. But well, you lived it, now you know how it is.
