First off, I enjoyed your video, and I love the look of that Medford. You made some really insightful points. My thought generally is that if you don't want a thick knife, then look elsewhere. With so many knives on the market, you certainly can find something that you like. As for myself, I increasingly find myself gravitating toward knives that have a stout handle, and a Medford looks to be a good fit for me. MKT doesn't make delicate knives. It makes knives that probably reflect its founder, Greg Medford - an unapologetic conservative who had an idea for a company and made it come true. I have no problem with that.

Thanks for the comment Mike! You are spot on, if they are not your thing move along is exactly how they should be viewed. They do however make “slim” knives to reach to those people as well. I increasingly find myself liking this knife and its design despite a few flaws. I hope to do a more review type video in the future.

It is a fantastic size if you like beefy but small. The “G” is also a good option but I have not handled one myself.

They complain because they don’t like Greg Medford’s political view
@johncacey3 жыл бұрын
I am sure that is part of it!
@J859092663 жыл бұрын
People just don't like Greg, for the most part. Medfords are some of the best high end American knives, period. Right up there with CRK and Hinderer.
@johncacey3 жыл бұрын
Agreed, they are in my mind CRK “like”. There is however one aspect of the Medford Knives that I do question. I hope to discuss that in a video at some point.
@meFatuations Жыл бұрын
I don't think CRK has reached the degree of precision of the Medford Praetorian. The Medford is in another class.

I wake up every morning and when I'm in that half awake state I'm like...I really need to buy a ti Then I'm like...oh , yeah I don't have $750 for a huge probably almost indestructible knife and then I hit my snooze button and try to sleep for 30 more minutes

To be fair I got this for half price ;)

$750 isn’t bad, my Micro Praetorian Ti was $1625 with all the Bells & Whistles.

@@johncacey The only option I didn’t get is a Lanyard Bead I believe. It’s a pretty sweet Knife though. I got a Tanto PVD coated CPM3V Blade, PVD Glass Breaker, PVD Coated Clip with Ghosted Hex Pattern, PVD coated Titanium hardware, Purple main side with Ghosted Hex Pattern, Purple secondary side with Predator Sculpting, and the Medford Knife & Tool Logo Lasered on the Blade.

@@johncacey I mean the special tool only Medford has to take apart
@johncacey3 жыл бұрын
Well you can use several other tools that are commonly available. There is a bike tool that works, as well as a few guys making them on the Facebook groups. It stinks its not a common bit but it is not enough for me to not love them.

Praetorian Genesis t would be the perfect size!!!!!!
@johncacey Жыл бұрын
I have since wanted to try one in that size also.
@meFatuations Жыл бұрын
I think this video misses the point. The attraction of the Praetorian T is the thickness of the blade. That is what people are interested in. The overall thickness of the body isn't really that important for this knife. If you want a thin dainty knife, go with the CRK. If you want a masculine tough, well engineered knife, go with the Medford. By the way, I haven't seen anyone complaining about the thickness of the Praetorian. If someone doesn't like the knife because of the blade thickness, who cares. That's the whole point of the knife.
