The antistreptolysin O (ASO) titer test is a blood test that checks for a strep infection. Streptococcus can cause multiple acute problems like sore throat, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and pneumonia or scarlet fever. It can also cause post- streptococcal complications like acute Rheumatic fever, acute Glomerulonephritis, bacterial endocarditis or reactive arthritis.
It’s very important to know about ASO titer.
