Karen Boyle, a consultant for the project UnCoveR - Sexual violence in Portuguese mediascapes, presented the opening keynote of the seminar “Gender violence, media and feminisms”, which marked the beginning of the CES Winter School “Media and Sexual Violence” (doi.org/10.544.... In her talk titled “Media, Gender, and Violence”, Karen Boyle framed #MeToo as “a long moment,” critically addressing the “monsterization” of perpetrators in the media and examining multiple expressions of backlash against the #MeToo movement.
