Ugreen makes really nice quality cables. I've bought audio extensions up to 5 meters, HDMI cables up to 10 meters, audio splitters, video splitter, couplers and adapters from this brand and I'm actually really impressed with their good quality. I recommend them 100%

The kind of static noise you got occurs when the cable is damaged, I have had this issue before. For one week now I have been using an Ugreen cable to connect my desktop PC to my monitor grade sound-boxes by Edifier, it is a P2 plug to two male RCA plugs. I have decided to buy nicer cables than those that came with the monitors. I had no issues so far and I think the cable improves the sound a little over the original ones. I may be wrong though, these things are subjective unless you're replacing some really crappy cables. In fact I am so satisfied that I have ordered two more cables of the same brand.

Hi thanks for checking out my video. Not surprised. I mean they make thousands if not more. Probably just a faulty one. I have since returned it. It felt a little (and I mean just ever so slightly) loose compared to my other 3.5mm cables when connecting the jack to the camera. Maybe it's not grounding or connecting properly. Just that little bit of gap - enough to make all the noise.

Hi Joe! Got the same cable(UGREEN) as extension for my boom mic. I also experienced the same problem which was the static noise when I started filming. But instead of buying a new cable I decided to buy FERRITE BEAD which i placed a few inches from the end which connects to the camera. It totally removed the static sound!😊👍🏼

Interesting fix! Thanks for sharing the tip. But my other cables didn’t need such device. Glad it works though. 🙂

I had this same problem. Turns out I hadn't pushed it in ALL the way. Once I did, the static was completely gone

I tried wiggling it and reconnecting. But mine just feels loose compared to my other 3.5mm cables. Think it’s ever so slightly too small the jack.

It looks very similar to the cables on the cheap-tier headphones available at every convenience store in Taiwan. I’ve bought at least a dozen over the years and that same sound was present on all of them. Some could hold easier at a sweet spot but over time even this spot would lose its advantage.

Ugreen makes really good power cables and HDMI cables, audio isn't exactly their strong suit
@HeresMo3 жыл бұрын
I love ugreen. Looks like you have a trs cable to trrs. Have a look at trs and trrs cables to learn the difference. With cameras I usually find I need a trs to trs. However it’s best to check your camera and your mic to see which you need. TRS - Tip Ring sleeve. TRRS - Tip Ring Ring Sleeve. Easiest way it to check how many rings on the original cable
@JoeLamOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for your message but no this is a TRS cable. Look at the thumbnail and video as you have said. TRRS (stereo plus mic chanenl for phones like you said), but this is a stereo TRS cable. Plus even if it is a TRRS, it will simply ignore the contact point if the camera jack doesn't have the mic input. It doesn't affect the third ring on the cable. And again, this is a TRS cable not TRRS as you have described. The camera supports stereo input. Image for reference, this is a TRS cable vs TRRS. www.diyvideostudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/TRS-vs-TRRS-Jacks.jpg

@@JoeLamOfficial what I have actually just noticed on my camera which I found really strange. I thought I had a shot cable but when I have the cage on my camera I pick up interference and clicking noises. I tried 2 other cables to the same result. It sounds kind of like a ground loop. When I took the cage off it went away. I have some new cables on order. Will let you know how they go. Do you have a cage on your camera?
@HeresMo3 жыл бұрын
Chances are it’s a dud cable though.
@JoeLamOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. No I didn’t have a cage. I think it’s just the Jack that that is ever slightly too small. When I wiggle it around it helps a bit but I don’t have any issue with many other 3.5mm cables I have. From kabeldirekt, Belkin, syncwire or cable from rode etc. It’s just this one that’s small faulty. Which can happen of course.

Hey Joe I'm looking for a 3.5mm extender for my microphone. What do you think the best quality one is? KabelDirekt?

Hey man, I’m new to this trs and trrs. I have a kz headphone with mic (4 pin, trrs) and i want to connect to my laptop with only audio jack hole (3 pin, support only trs). I try to jack the headphone in but only work one sided, so will this cable basically turn into a trs adapter for my headphone to use with my pc?
@JoeLamOfficial Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use a TRS adapter to connect your KZ headphone with a TRRS connector to your laptop's audio jack, which supports only TRS connectors. A TRS adapter will essentially convert the TRRS connector on your headphone into a TRS connector, allowing you to connect it to your laptop. When using a TRS adapter, the microphone on your KZ headphone might not work since the laptop's audio jack does not support a separate microphone input. The adapter will only transfer the audio signals for the headphone's left and right channels. If you require both audio and microphone functionality, you may need to consider using a USB audio adapter or an external USB sound card that supports TRRS connections. These devices typically provide separate audio and microphone jacks, allowing you to connect your headphone's TRRS connector and use both audio and microphone features simultaneously.

im using same audio for my boya by mm1 mic. Mine just produce static noises non stop and cant even detect my voice just static noises on my pc. It works fine on my mobile phone so its not the mic or cable !!! WHAT SHOULD I DO ????
@JoeLamOfficial10 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Boya BY-MM1 microphone. If the microphone works fine on your mobile phone but produces static noises on your PC, there might be a few things you can try to resolve the problem: Check your PC's audio settings: Make sure that the microphone is selected as the input device in your PC's audio settings. You can usually access these settings through the Control Panel or the system tray. Are you sure you are using the mic input jack?

You used the wrong cable, you can't use a 3 pin, you need 4 pin cable. You basically shorted power pin to one of the signal pins. Good way to kill your Camera
@JoeLamOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hmm camera still works otherwise I wouldn’t have managed to film this video. The other (kabel direkt) cable i used looks exactly the same with the number of rings or pin if that’s what you’re calling it and it works fine without this issue. 4 pin or TRRS are for phones etc? TRS is enough to carry the stereo channel and ground. Not sure what you mean if you could explain more?
@press_pause22363 жыл бұрын
That’s BS. The fourth pin is the last in the cam - so the jack with Data path is slightly longer. When your jack does not contain a data path this part will just be empty inside of the camera. So Joe is right here
@EDcase1 Жыл бұрын
Jason is wrong. TRS (3 pin) carries stereo audio and is used for microphones OR headphones (Note: mic cables need to be shielded). TRRS(4 pin) carries stereo channels AND mic signal which is for headsets with built-in mic. Mainly used with mobiles or computers.
