What to if i want to do mediation analysis in my research. And with the help of review of literature i have build a model. But problem occur when somehow two variables are not correlated or when two variables are correlated but one does not predict another variable.

How can we measure the reliability of a single indicator latent variable, can you please help in that understanding?

The single indicator latent variable would be made up of a multi-item instrument with some known reliability. We would use the observed score as the single indicator.

How would we fix the single indicator latent variable, if the indicator is binary? Reliability can surely be known but what about the variance?

An SILV is not usually used for something that is binary.

Assuming u know the reliability, you can use the estimate of the binary variables variance in your analysis. However, I think this would be an odd thing to do and strictly hypothetical.
