Here's an interesting rule of thumb I heard for shadows and highlights: If you have a warm-toned light source, highlights will be warm-toned and shadows will be cool-toned. If you have a cool-toned light source, highlights will be cool-toned and shadows will be warm-toned. Just an interesting rule I heard and thought I'd share for fellow artists.

Oh please, don't excuse yourself for your voice or pronunciation. We watch you because you're an awesome artist, not because we want to hear ASMR or something like this. We like you and your videos the way they are, so don't judge yourself this harshly. Even though it's a great mindset to improve yourself.

Another note: The shadow should be a similar color to the objects near it. So if the character is leaning against a brick wall, if the shadow was next to the wall it'd be redder. And with neon colored objects (Like a neon yellow hoodie/vest) it'll reflect a lot of light, so objects near it will become yellower. This applies to other things, but I just wanted to point those out! I love the video btw, I never thought to use the airbrush tool because I thought it wouldn't look as clean.

The use of blues, greens, and purples aren’t just to make a picture pop under special lighting. Because of the veins and blood flow under the skin, certain areas of the face and neck appear more blue or pink. There’s also the undertones of the skin to keep in mind. Applying more than just a variation of the base color provides a more realistic kick to the drawing.

I love your voice so much, it's very calming! Please don't feel so bad about it, like what all the other commenters said! We don't just love your art (though it is heavenly), we love you as well! I also was inspired to get medibang (a switch over from krita) because of how streamlined and less buggy it seemed. I'm loving it so far!

You have a monopoly on KZbin for quality videos using MediBang, which must have a higher demand than people think, because its really a great program the possibilities of which are exemplified by your amazing art. Being new to both digital painting and MediBang, you have been a vital resource for my learning experience and I look forward to all of your videos to come. Also, Ive noticed you apologize for your voice in previous videos, and just thought to mention that most people, myself included, hate the sound of their own voice!
