Welcome to another vlog yall! I know a vlog was not next on the agenda but the other project I am working on is not quite ready so I hope this will suffice for now…. What did your daily task include in adolescents/children’s mental health? I know you couldn’t show much due to HIPAA, so I was just wondering because I’m thinking about going into psychiatry/Mental health for my MA externship.

Honestly, this may be discouraging but it’s a pretty simple job compared to every other MA job I’ve had. Basically, the only hands on patient care I do is vitals. Everything else is computer/paper work. A large portion of my job is also spent answering the phones and getting messages through from the patients’ parents to the providers. Let me know if you want a more in depth explanation of what the computer/paperwork consists of. It may just be where I work, but that’s pretty much it. I would recommend choosing another specialty if you want the full spectrum of what the Medical Assistant role consists of. I will also be releasing a video soon about my experience from when I first started up to now so stay on the lookout for that as well!
