Wonder how it affects bowel and bladder. Can the patient get those functions back?

Yes it does. It sends electrical signals to the spinal cord which can control motor functions such as bowel & bladder

Hmm Spinal cord is the primary controller 🤔😮 meaning is itself the brain of human motor system. Wow so the spinal cord could act indepedently of the brain???? Well we always study the nervous system as brain and spinal cord together anyways but is most of our actual movement due to our Spinal cord over everything else?
