Well I highly doubt that they did all their GCSEs in one session. They likely did no more than 9-10 in one session, and did the rest along with their AS or A levels. Distributing GCSEs is better.

@@unravel9716 I’ve applied to dentistry, and the grade requirements are pretty much the same as medicine. When they go through your application they dont really look at how many GCSE’s you’ve taken, rather the amount of subjects you’ve achieved high grades in. They’re going to prefer someone with only 5 GCSEs all A*s over someone who has 10 GCSEs with Bs and Cs. Its a tad bit risky taking more GCSEs since you have more subjects to worry about, but 8 GCSEs are the standard amount anyway so there’s no need to worry :)

The past 2 years have been tough because of igcses for me and all my classmates, no one really finds it easy I guess. It was like we spent them stressing and studying for tests and time flew by just like that. I know a levels and everything in future will be harder but yeah igcses have already given me horrible memories. I worked real hard tho so I hope I can get all A*s. Anyway I know some of my older friends who took 8 subjects, and knowing that I took less than them they think I'm dumb and or just don't want to study. But I really just took less because I know my limits and what I can achieve, unlike them who got C's in some subjects but still feel inferior just cause they took more subjects talking down to me. It's just absurd. I could've definitely taken more subjects if I wanted to but that wouldn't guarantee all As for me so I didn't

i gave 11 got all A*s and As. You just gotta relax and keep working and you will get the desired results i promise. In my first attempt i only got 4 As out of 8 and got 4 Bs i was very dissapointed but i did not give up and gave the exams again i gave 2 more with them and i got the result i wanted. If you keep working i promise god will create ways for you, just keep puting in the work and have faith in god and you will get the result you want.

Focus on getting good grades at a level but also obtain a good grade on the UKCAT/BMAT. Research each medical school requirements also! Additionally, good experience volunteering/healthcare experience in a care setting. If all else fails and you don’t make it the first time keep going! You can also do post graduate medicine with an undergraduate degree.

Those are good grades hence you got in! Many people haven’t gotten into medical school due to their GCSE here grades so it’s important not to spread misinformation ‼️ If you check Medical school requirements many if them have a minimum threshold 🚶🏽‍♂️

@@LydieandHazal Correct, i mean in the General over view of all gcse grades. Most medical schools will just require A or B in mathematics, double science and English. As A levels are a better predicter of ability. However, some medical schools will require certain number of A* and A grades in total - but they are minority. Reason been they want to filter candidates out and take the best as UK has limited medical school places.

@@dominicwilliams8452 was average score. Hull York medical school, has high student satisfaction Feed back and York is beautiful. Also liked Edinburgh but was rejected. Edinburgh, Kings and Cambridge are probably most competitive.

​@@kepler22-bI left UK and iv always found a way there are so many options and opportunities in the big bad world ..and internet makes it much easier to achieve wat you want ...retaking gcses would have been like eaten porcelain China for me .... open mind + ambition + the will to succeed you can achieve anything these days.. school is only made for the "Bright" kids if you fall short especially in UK you will be in factory ... the majority of people especially the ones that are successful had nothing in school ..

Heyhey, I think you should check the medical school council entrey requirements pdf to see what GCSE's med skls in the UK would like you to have upon applying to help inform your decision. If you're grades don't meet the threshold then there are other alternative methods to get into medicine like doing a degree first or retaking certain exams etc 🙌🏽

actually a lot of med schools in the UK use gcses as a cut off point to reduce the application process. The general point is if you didn't get mostly 6s and above then a lot of med schools will not look at your application very much

If you still dont get it use yt freesciencelessons/ cognito ,etc.Then after learning/ understanding topics do questions on it. See ur weak topics and focus on them. For maths go on mathsgenie rev and try do all the topics 🤍

@@juventusfan4873 I’m a Year 12 and I got 6 grade 8s and 4 grade 9s - past papers are really good for gcse level because they consolidate your knowledge well. there’s not really any need for note taking outside of class work so I liked to use flash cards for things I struggled with in previous tests so I could consolidate that knowledge! Hope it helps ^^
