By February 11, the United States issued Do Not Travel Advisories. By February 12, the U.S. withdrew its troops from Ukraine. Many countries were releasing travel advisories for increasing risks, since many were fearing an invasion. If a student chose to stay during the pre-invasion period, then they were brain dead stupid. They had 11 days to leave before the invasion. They could've left whenever they wanted to, but they waited until the last minute.

People tend to overlook the fact that most of Europe never really went through a civil rights era or gone through the social and cultural strife that we in America did through the latter half of the 20th century...... While much of Europe, especially in the East has gone through major geopolitical transformations, they have for the most part, remained quite homogeneous ethnically, and, in spite of how much things have changed in society, many extremist and right wing groups have taken refuge and flourished throughout much of Europe I'm not unsympathetic to the plight of Ukraine, but the bitter pill to swallow is that this country is no less guilty in their treatment of ethnic/religious minorities and foreigners than Russia or any other location in Eastern Europe.
