This was the time when the pandemic is happening, and online jobs are the thing. To answer your question, I did not continue this path because upon further researching, and watching another youtuber (contempo coding) [please forgive me jjmedicine for giving her YT] - if one is not in a medical field like nurses, it will be very difficult to be a medical encoder. Good luck in your journey, hope we all make it to be successful in our endeavors in life. I'm rooting for you.

So now that I've decided to go back to school, I want to get a head-start with it before my actual class. I anticipate having a "heavy" class load so I want to go ahead and start with this NOW so that I don't get so overwhelmed LATER. Your teaching definitely seems to be a lifesaver! Thanks for this review. It's really good. But I think the best way to learn medical terminology is to buy a book on the subject and use the list of medical prefixes and suffixes toward the end. A book I have lists about 1500 of these terms. I have memorized about 800 in the last 4 months using index cards that I made up myself.

thank you so much! I am a girl and in August is a new chapter of my life. My last year of Junior High. I want to be prepared for High School because I want to follow the medical path. I'm started early but it's something I want to do. I have a passion for dance that's strong, but I've also loved playing nurse when I was a little kid and thought maybe some sort of sign. My mother said i could be good in the medical field, and my cousin is a nurse and I'd love to see her proud. My parents tell eachother they are proud of me any step and path i take, if i start early, no pressure on myself, and be the next nurse. i can make them prouder.

I'm an older student starting the Care Assist program, and I am so glad I found this channel to help with learning the terminology! I try to make associations to aid my aging brain in this, and, for instance, got, 'He completely wet his DIA-/PER through and through' from your video. In my text book, we are also learning abbreviations, and when I first saw SOB, I realized my brain was hardwired to automatically think, 'Sonofabitch', rather than, 'Shortness of Breath', so now to remember, I think this 'This Son of a Bitch has shortness of breath' to remember! Lol!

I just finished block 1 of 2 for a Career Step Medical Coding for Inpatient and Outpatient program. Medical Terminology was one of the covered subjects, but everything was just reading the online books and taking quizzes. I plan to review these videos in the meantime before the next block starts. Its nice to hear a teacher actually breaking it all down into chunks like this. Maybe there's also some introduction to coding videos? Then I can really get a head start!
