This is so helpful! It’s so worth it to get part D coverage even if you don’t take any prescriptions, to avoid a late enrollment penalty. Thank you for the info!

That's a very good point! It might feel funny to enroll in a plan if you don't take prescription medications. I mean, what's the point, right? But, you don't want to face the alternative, which is that pesky lifetime late enrollment penalty!

How do I check which plans cover the drugs my parents take?
@conniehealth9 ай бұрын
Great question. To find plans that cover the drugs your parents take you can review plans and their formularies, or you can speak with a local licensed Connie Health agent who can do all that legwork for you. They'll review the medications your parents need and then narrow down Part D plan options based on your parent's health and budget needs. Call 1-888-369-1585 to get your free, no-obligation plan review.

On top of all this great info, one thing I’d like to add is that there are special plans designed for those dealing with chronic illnesses. These Chronic Special Need Plans (CSNP) usually have a specialty 6th tier in which some of the more costly medications to treat chronic illnesses will fall under saving you significant amounts of money throughout the course of the year on your Medications. The best thing about CSNPs is you can enroll into them year round as long as they are available in your county! Changing plans mid year can also benefit you by keeping you in the initial coverage phase longer as well as the enhanced benefits that come with CSNPs!

This is a great point. Every formulary is different and has it's own set of tiers. When I speak about them in the video, it's a generalization. Searching for a Chronic Special Needs Plan can help with the more costly medications. Great tip!

PLEASE explain HOW to "bundle" an Adavantag plan with Part D. How do I tell Medicare I have an Advantage prescription plan?
@conniehealth5 ай бұрын
A Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage is automatically bundled. There isn't anything that you need to do. If you have your plan information and share that with Medicare you'll know what prescription drug plan coverage you have. A small amount of people have a Medicare Advantage plan and a Medicare Part D, but that's more the exception than the rule. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage that plan is called a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan. If you have questions or need help working with Medicare feel free to call a local Connie Health agent who can help. Call 1-888-369-1585.

Medicare Advantage is a hard NO

Oh, this video is about both standalone prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans. Is there a reason why Medicare Advantage is a hard NO for you?
