The thing about AY/Revoltech is the aesthetic sacrifice that gets made for an extra 15% more or less of articulation over most other figures. With Mafex, you get almost the same amount of practical range of motion with WAAAY better looks. That said, if the figure gets made and after buying it you like it, you win.

Seeing all the Mafex reviews, makes me want to get a Mafex Spider-Man, sad the Peter Parker Comics version is pretty expensive now. I hope I can find him for a good price.

Yeahh, the next best thing is the ML retro Spidey. The Mezco one is also an option but I personally don't like the look of it and that particular figure doesn't age well.

You should try to go for him he’s an amazing figure or even the (comic paint version) as well which is about $100 cheaper then the first comic version one

I would get a different one. The old Mafex figures break the new ones don’t and I’m sure there will be another more worth the price. Personally I waited for this one

@@quartex5450 Yeah they definitely are improving. I was annoyed that I'd need to dremel the hand pegholes. Now they include pegholders for the hands. Had no issues with inserting and removing hands with my infinity war cap. Still had a torso qc issue tho zzz, but that was an easy fix.

Mines on the way, I love the original clone saga as well. Ben’s fight with Venom had me sold on this character back then. I missed out on the Peter Parker Spider-Man figure, when I saw this guy up I didn’t even hesitate on pre-ordering him. I’m surprised they didn’t put out the Scarlet Spider first. Can’t wait to see what Mafex does next, awesome review as usual! Would be killer if they did a Spider-Carnage! I was waiting for this video 😆

Just got to be careful of the knock offs. OR… Like D said in the video, hold out hope for a re-release or upgraded body of the og Spidey. But the usual places I check have sold out or ceased orders on that one. Also - If you’re a fan of the black suit, might want to consider a pre-order on that upcoming Spider-Man figure.

Got mine Saturday, it’s not perfect - but damn do I love it and am glad I didn’t miss out on this one. Been having a blast posing him and become annoyingly aware I have nothing really metal to try out his magnetic attachments on 😂 I’m now really hoping for a Superboy figure, I feel like Mafex is got on of those in the tank. I would love for it to look like a Marvel vs DC fight between the two of them. Wouldn’t even hesitate to buy two and see if someone could customize one into a Spider-Boy.

The blue paint apps arent necessarily better on Ben, theyre just different. Ben has completely flat paint with no shading while Peter has a more metallic paint job with shading. A lot of people probably prefer Ben's blue, but I wouldnt say the quality is any different, just the style. Seems like a weird way to explain that, just saying Ben has better paint apps. I like that the blues are different just for variety.

Curious why may people always recommend to use shock oil to loosen tight joints a and be able to move freely. When in fact, you can actually use almost any tiny dab of oil products you can find in your bedroom or dresser like hair oil, baby oil, etc. Heck, even a tiny bit of cooking oil can be helpful, and they are safer on plastics.

I wonder why they made this iteration of Ben Reilly as spiderman and not the super cool scarlet spider suit with the sky blue hoodie and the red suit with the ankle pouches. That’s what I would have LOVED to see! I have not seen any of the Spidey suits yet be able to top that design. They’ve made figures for that original iron spider suit so I wonder why they don’t tackle the original scarlet spider one.

Finally! When I get mine, I plan to make the color of the logos more accurate to Bagley's original design. That is, the logos are supposed to match the the secondary color of the suit. However, it looks kind of odd with a flat bright blue, so I'm going to do the "comic-paint" look for this figure. I practiced this with my Marvel Legends Ben Reilly, and it's so much better! I absolutely need the blue highlights over black on the logos and rest of the suit for the Sensational design lol

Hey man! As everybody on the Mafex world, I love # 143 aka Ben Reilly. I've been ignoring the Mafex brand/line for quite awhile now due to the numerous issues that arise from each figure they made e.g. Hush Supes, Comic Spidey, Spiderverse Spidey and Miles, Catwoman, and lastly the shoulder of Gambit(Although that's one report only) but with the release of Gambit who mirrors how # 143 is being received by the community now. And now Ben Reilly I can't help but to succumb to my inner child that I want those two(And also Cyclops). My question is with how # 143 is made like you said in this review better design, plastic, quality etc. Do you think we won't be seeing issues with this figure anytime soon and even with issues will only be isolated case? Thank you!
