From the core of the heart to the outer skin there are 3 principal layers namely endocardium, myocardium and pericardium. The pericardium is the outermost fibrous layer that covers the heart. This pericardium is composed of two layers. One of these layers is known as the epicardium or visceral pericardium(innermost) which is the closest pericardial layer to the myocardium.

1:29 Pericardium is composed of an outermost fibrous layer and an inner serous layer that’s a closed double layered sac, and the layers of that sac are (parietal and visceral).. and the visceral “inner” layer of it that’s adherent to heart is also called epicardium. so the difference is (epicardium is the innermost part of endocardium that’s enclosing the heart).. Correct me if I’m wrong.. 🌸

So what about the Post acute phase? Does the heart return to normal Function? Ive heard of many patients that get told by the doctors everything is back to normal, but the patients still feel weaker and perform worse in sports

If the pt complains of typical chest pain + ecg findings show st elevation and troponin initially may not be elevated then shouldn’t we start treating it as ACS ? Then what make us suspect it and send pt for echo ?
