(Ans-18), Sodium has fast gates because it's moving under the influence of two gradients (conc. and electrical) whereas potassium moves against (electrical) one and in favor(conc.) of another gradient thus it can be managed easily with slow gate.

At 19:30 the equation is kinda wrong according to gyton well there should be cl- outside in nominator and cl- inside in denominator... ??
@mrnerd732 жыл бұрын
At 18:18 the equation is wrong, you wrote cl-in/cl-out but it's actually cl-out/cl-in . Please correct me if I am wrong
@Ùpdùlqaðìr Жыл бұрын
Youre true but , if youre using that fomula make sure your constant is 60 and not negative 60. so incase you want to make cl in / cl out , you can use a positive constant . but you can see he has used a negative
@jeinesilva95774 ай бұрын
@@Ùpdùlqaðìr the point is just about the Cl- (anion). The relation of concentration is the opposite for the cations (Na+ and K+)

Hello. In some books concentration of chloride ion in ECF is taken as numerator and conc. In ICF is taken as denominator. Can you explain why?
@sarahhassan1960 Жыл бұрын
I really love your humor😂😂😂. I couldn't find the playlist for CVS from the beginning til the end. I just found a couple of videos or is it only that?
Firstly thanks alot for the video its wonderful…. Regarding the goldman’s equation shouldn’t the chloride in and out be flipped … meaning (Conc of chloride out and P of Cl out) as the numerator And the opposite as denominator … since it is -61 Kindly correct me if I am wrong شكرا من طب القاهرة ❤️❤️

Sir, you said the most excitable part is the node of ranvier but in textbooks and google it says just beyond the axon hillock, in a region called the axonal initial segment. So I am confused, can you please explain it to me which is correct

According to goldman equation increase of Cl- inside the cell will cause depolarization, but it is impossible because chloride ion is negatively charged so it should hyperpolarize the cell. Of course Cl-influx will cause hyperpolarization but what if I put the chloride anion inside the cell? Where am I wrong in this deduction?
@aronianspigonian85892 жыл бұрын
When considering Cl- in the Goldman eq, you have to determine the inverse of the standard setup of the equation. To explain further, the concentration outside of the cell will be in the denominator of the equation rather than the numerator as the positive ions are expressed. Vice versa for the concentration within the cell.
