Great lecture. The case answer is "A". Phrenic nerve injury acts as a restrictive flow pattern. Trouble with inspiration, can't get as much air in, decreased TLC. No scalloping in exp phase.

The coving in obstruction loop is due to the first part being effort dependent which is normal so straight line while the second part is effort independent expiration which is affected in obst lung disease also called "dog leg/scooped out pattern"

at 12:05 i think the blue TLC line should reach from volume zero to volume 6 not from volume 1L to volume 6. otherwise youre showing fvc not tlc. otherwise great video!

No after maximal expiration you'll be left with residual volume...after that when you start inspiring...you'll start from residual volume and not from 0.. that's why curve goes from 1 to 6 and not 0 to 6...All the best👍

Great lecture! I just wanted to point out that the back extrapolation volumes on those flow-volume loops are unacceptable and would be considered unusable per technical standards. I don’t mean to split hairs but I think it’s important that any viewers who may be involved in interpreting PFTs be able to recognize acceptable testing maneuvers. My guess would be C sir , cuz the diaphragm contributes to respiratory but there are other inspiratory muscles that can compensate, so the graph will be similar to a normal graph in shape but reduced in all other aspects in term of amplitude. Am I right?
