I appreciated what you said about historical fiction, “making you remember the facts thanks to the way they were told, while remembering reality was only an inspiration for the author”. I think that’s why I turn to historical fiction for learning about history more often than non fiction, I’m entertained as well as learning - not that the best non fiction can’t do that but fiction suits me better.
