Tour of the medieval town of Besalu in the Catalan region of La Garrotxa in Spain with special emphasis on the history of the Jewish Community of Besalu, which is estimated to have been 25% of the town's inhabitants during the Middle Ages who formed an independent Jewish Quarter of those of Barcelona and Girona in medieval times. Interesting remains of Jewish culture are preserved in the town, such as a Mezuzah, remains of a Synagogue with a Jewish school known as Yeshiva and the only Mikvé, a Jewish ceremonial pool, from the 12th century that is preserved in Spain, and one of the few its kind preserved in Europe.
