The tax thing isn't a bug. As far as I can tell the tax is on the crops, not the field itself. My field was fallow for the entire first year because my focus was on hunting and finding a wife and I didn't pay a penny in tax on it. After my first 3x3 onion crop, the only one I planted that year, my taxes went up. My current year, the third one, was a full 5x5 field of onion and I expect my taxes to be significantly higher. Also, don't worry about filling the entire field the first year. I could only afford enough seed and fertilizer to do 9 of the 25 squares the first year, but I got so many seeds at harvest that I was able to do the full 25 the following year, and I made a tidy profit on the seeds themselves while still keeping enough to fill my field on year 4.

In your opinion, would you place a crop field over a spot that has a shitload of Berry bushes? I could keep it to a 10x16 lot and not intrude on the bushes. As is, it would only make the crop block 13x16. Is 3 more lines worth losing the Berry crop?

How do I get workers to do everything by themselves in the fields? Do I need to put seeds and manure in the barn chest? Awesome guide btw!

I haven’t yet used workers on my farm but I believe you need hoe, bag, scythe and seeds and fertilizer(try one if it doesn’t work out enough for the entire field) in the barn. Also if you let workers use the farm they only give you passive exp.

Build barn, assign person as a field worker. Create field, open planing menu and paint field with a crop (have to be in-season crop, can check with your bag). You HAVE to save and load game after you change field settings or workers will be stuck.

As far as I know I put the hoe, bag, scythe, manure and every seeds and their grains in the barn. There is no restrictions what you can put in it. It’s best put everything-related to farming in the barn.

I've done this. My problem is my crops don't grow. They stay seeds all season. Then when next season rolls around they look partially grown. My trees grow. Just not my crops. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

just get 1000 unripe berries, set them on the ground wait for them to rot and boom 100 fertilizer

How about flax. I plant it in spring and it grows in summer, but despite having a stone scythe it won't harvest...

@@writeordie5452 Do they? Maybe your hunters are bugged then ) since it’s unique. Mine was standing still, until I put a bow and arrows inside the hut’s chest. The game is confusing atm. I think even developers don’t have a clue, sometimes)

@@Pomer2222 Honestly they do. Last I checked at least. And I never gave the woodcutter an axe either. And I'm getting more meat than my village can eat, and enough wood, so something's working. I've seen them standing still as well, but if you go into the production chart for the hunting hut in the village management screen you should still see (or at least I do) that the meat and such produced goes up with X per hour. I know for sure that I never put bows or anything in their chest, but perhaps they got hold of one of my bows anyway? Like, I did put one in my own private house's chest, but there's been no wear and tear to it, still 100%. Maybe giving them bows and arrows would improve efficiency somehow? I agree that it is very confusing though. I would love some official Wiki guide.

My question is does tax rate differ from multiple small fields similar size to a 16x16 to actual 16x16. I have few 3x3 and 2x4 due to terrain. I was thinking to remove tree stumps and stones and delete small farms and make one large farm. So would having one large 16x16 lower tax?

i have both a bag and manure, but when i go to change the what's in the bag, manure isnt an option. theres a fertilzer option but i dont have enough techonology to unlock the barn to craft it, so im not sure what to do now

same, the only option besides seeds is fertilizer and it requires a barn to produce from manure.

@@Melchiah3000 well i sorta fixed it? i ended up having to start a new game,. but i talked to Sobiemir in Gostovia and was able to buy fertilzer from him. so if he isnt selling any of it in your current game, make a new game and see if he does EDIT: checked the update patch for the game "Changed Manure to Fertilizer in vendors inventory, which can be purchased - Manure will be exchanged to fertilizer in the next season ", so you can use your old save just have to wait a season

As of February 2021 a lot of the vendor information is incorrect. Wasted a lot of time running around to the listed vendors to not find manure.

Yeah, that will tell you. It is pretty ambiguous I agree, Every few days the season changes. I do not remember what picture is which, but you get a good idea looking at the trees.

@@morriganaego4288 I believe you do it in the Barn. Look for the threshing floor. I think you choose Flax Grain, but I'm not positive. It's confusing for sure. This and I think one other crop are the only ones that don't give seed directly.
