Very impressive and foreboding, looks impregnable. In 1207 the castle looked pretty much as it does now, well guarded by a seasoned force of desperate Cathars. Water was no issue and they had time to lay in provisions for a lengthy siege. The castle was surrendered to the King of France in only nine days of siege. Pretty wimpy
