He did too. The paradise planet was his second planet, not first. You don’t have access to base computer until your second planet. 😉👍🏻 And the first planet always has bad storms. It spawns them in at certain points in the tutorial. Once you use the map to find the hermetic seal, for example, the storm spawns about 30 seconds later. In fact, you can even view the map then hang out in your ship or a cave and just wait for the storm to clear. 😂

No Man’s Sky has lots to do, and it can seem overwhelming at times. I think it’s only fault is it has so many paths to explore, like trade, running a colony, combat and piracy etc but they could do more to flesh the individual aspects of each path more i.e. it could use more complexity so the gameplay stays fresh and fun. I have a lot of time in the game and some parts feel stale after a while, though with the huge overhaul to the game recently it could have done a lot to help. The first couple hours are the hardest to get through though, once you get past the tutorial the universe opens up. You were incredibly lucky to start on a paradise planet. Not to mention, I see new things that surprise me at least every week. As others have said thats a great start. My start was a constantly freezing toxic fume world that had gaps in the terrain so you could hardly navigate. I play in the difficult setting so I had to find caves every minute. I was struggling with gathering resources while snowblind and freezing to death. I also had to avoding some quick deadly predators and dangerous fauna. It was a true nightmare. I get to my ship and have to fix it. That in itself was the plot to a new movie about survival. Fell down a mine shaft thingy essentially a cave system. Battling everything from poison clouds to hostile animals while trying to resurface. The start can be great or truly challenging in this game. I think both has merit though its also a kinda cool experience making your ship work on a literall hell world and escaping to the stars.

I've been playing since launch and still love playing this game. It is very much an exploration game with mild survival and combat involved. If you're looking for intense survival and combat look elsewhere. The game has been out for almost eight years and most of the systems you go to will never have been seen by another player. I highly recommend new players start with normal mode and do the tutorial missions until you're familiar with the controls and how things work. But even on the hardest settings, extreme permadeath mode, it isn't all that difficult if you know what you're doing. Just have to be REALLY careful you don't die.

When on the ground, to escape sentinels terraform a tunnel into the ground and turn right or left a short distance. They can't find you and aggro will drop. In space you can escape sentinel ships by flying away. You will eventually lose them and have the ability to kick in more speed.
@DocSardo4 ай бұрын
However, sometimes they bug out like they did in this video and it can be tough to shake them. In this case you can dig down and if they don't de-spawn just log out and back in. If they are not bugged you can just out-run them and they will lose you. Getting in your ship will re-set the waves to flying instead of ground troops, so not the best idea unless you want to take on their mothership.

2 Points on things you said during the settlement part, The Radiation protection module you found does NOT give 100% protection to radiation, that 100% is just it's "battery" power that's used up to protect you from radiation and the planet you are on while it is radioactive (Earth is too, all planets are.), it's not radioactive enough to trigger your radiation module to protect you, it's not being used at the moment on that planet. Secondly the fine amount that you gave to your citizen does NOT go to you, in fact it's negative. Your citizen (your settlement) needs to pay that fine (presumably to the other citizens off shore bank account because that money just disappears from the settlement.), Notice how it says settlement debt XYZ amount.

NMS has an amazing amount of well designed and interesting mechanics. Only issue is, that almost all of those mechanics can become boring unless you find something special in them. For ex. I was building code locks using switches and converters in basebuilding, then modify the locks and I made a puzzle base. I saw a dude who had super complex lock, that was translating inputs into 6 character binary code and then compared that to the key kode... I mean come on. Some people become just addicted to ship hunting ( there are many changes to ships but devs keep in mind to make that aspect engaging) others may enjoy breeding, something that is also long run. I found a couple of mechanics that literally sucked me in, very much enjoyed all the rest and overall this game is my all time top 5.

At the same time, I do think the game can be quite disappointing at some moments, when you find an interesting planet it's pretty cool, but most planets are not very interesting, I feel like they should had have a dungeon on ruins generation as well, or something like that so the planets can feel more fun to explore. Anyway, it's an interesting game, but I wouldn't recommend to pay full price for it, buy it when you find a good sale, because the game doesn't worth a lot.

Why are they all space faring? The game needs to diversify a bit more and have some strange tribal crabs on a desert planet or something, it would bring so much to the game. We’ll get there hopefully. I hope cities one day get added too, and I hope they’re also diverse and not just the same architecture throughout the entire galaxy like the generated settlements today.

Saying "galaxy" instead of "solar system" or "star" gives me a pang, every single time. 😉 I'm glad you're having so much fun discovering things in this game, and I hope that you'll continue to enjoy all the different systems and gameplay elements that you've still to find out about! 👍

Gave this game a try for the first time since launch last week. It’s obviously a very different game than it was at launch and has made so many improvements. The graphics are beautiful, the planets are better, and the systems are much more mature. With that said, I had a hard time sticking with it because I didn’t feel like I was working towards anything. The way I’d put it is that the journey was fun, but I didn’t have a destination. So after roughly 30 hours of playing it, I stopped. I hope to see some kind of end-game content eventually

8:55. They are all solar systems in the starter galaxy. There are about 255 galaxies......

The first one, Euclid, is the most explored out of all of them, and as of right now just over 1% of Euclid has been discovered. Insane.

@@samdelfaveroSeriously? Wow. No wonder I've only rarely ended up in previously explored star systems in 40 hours. I guess that opens up a lot of possibilities for them to add new types of planets/star systems in the future though. Maybe in Worlds Part 2 we'll get that.

I have been grinding a good ship recently and man it is so good 200K lightyear jump range and i got it by going to a dissonant planet shooting up sentinel refineries getting this brain thingie it points me to a crashed sentinel ship i have to fix it and merge my brain with it so it does not "consume" me and then i could fly it

Great video man., new sub earned! I've been playing NMS ever since it came out and stuck with it for hundreds of hours and years. As soon as they added base building, I started creating a base every single day, that to me, was soooo relaxing! I took a break for about a year and came back with the latest update mainly to see the new water rendering system and got hooked all over again.

I notice you dont have a Freighter yet Every 5 times you Warp to a new system there is a bttle, im sure youve seen, even fought in the battle When the battle is over you get a comm message to dock with one f the freighters, speak to the captain and he will offer you the freighter (1st one is free, after that youll need to buy them if you choose to upgrade it later) This freighter can hold your ships (you cn own 12 ships at a time before having to get rid of one), you can also reconfigure, or build the interior of the freighter into a base Now you have a flying base that can warp to more systems, hold your ships, and be called in to your system when needed etc Im trying to stay a bit vague so you can still find out things for yourself, an also because you dont want me to write you an essay Theres a few other things too, but as i say, i will let you find and figure it out There is hundreds of videos that can teach you things if you should wish to be told, rather than figure it out Happy trails and welcome to No Man's Sky!

Keep at it, do the expeditions when you have time….now is great 👍….and you’ll find your place in the stars with the rest of us. Before you know it, all the overwhelming enemies and obstacles you face will be child’s play…. (Pun intended) I have sunk a bit over 2000+ hours in game about 2/3rds of which was and still is exclusively in VR. This game….it changes how we see the industry and it’s the comeback kid of gaming. You’ll never be alone. Welcome to the community.

Your starter base looks pretty close to what mine was like as well. Since then I made a Cliffside base on top of a mountain and an undersea base. This became a great game an overall enjoyable sbd creative sci fi experience. It doesn't rush you into anything you go at your own pace and however you like to play. I was really impressed starting the game again in 2024.

No Man's Sky has evolved so much, and it has so much to do, that what i like to do the most, because i like shooters, is to just hunt sentinels, corrupted sentinels, pirates and now vile broods. Cranking the combat difficulty to the max really makes you sweat and it's fun as hell. 3 years ago I always stopped playing because I didn't find the combat engaging. Now it is fun. And in the middle of that I do the quests which have pretty interesting writing, learn alien languages. Do some missions, explore the planets a little bit, explore freighters. I think that the game now has pretty good gameplay loops, not perfect, but it truly has progressed and it's now one of the best exploration games ever.
