This is me playing the piano exercise 'Meditation Nr. 01-C' by Lubomyr Melnyk. At some point I start messing around a bit with adding my own notes and figures.

Hi! Just want to say, thanks for being a fellow advertiser of Melnyk's music on KZbin. On my own channel I've posted a tutorial and a few recordings, crappy recording quality though

Hé 👋🏻 I love these melnyk recordings by you, especially this one, keep coming back to it over the years. 🙏🏻 I’m working on a series of geometric and mathematical fractal zooms, would love to use this recording as background music. Would that be cool? (Obviously with proper credit and linking back to here ^*^)

Did you study with Melnyk? This is quite beautiful. I am thinking about signing up to study the first 6 meditations with him, but I am a novice at the piano and am not sure I will be able to handle the difficulty. Regards. Thanks for posting

I've met him 3 times in autumn of 2017, when he was touring in Germany. There he showed me some stuff for half an hour or so before each concert. When we were at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, which is a newly built, crazy gigantic concert hall, I was too intimidated by the venue to play on the actual stage, so I did some playing backstage while he was having drinks with his friends. After that, I bought some sheet music from him (the first meditations and a couple other), started working on the pieces and started this channel, so that I could send him links of these videos in order to get feedback from him. I think he'd be happy about anyone trying out his style. I don't think your level of experience on the piano matters, if you want to study the meditations. They are structurally rather simple. Their purpose is more to get you towards creating a tapestry of sound and keeping it moving and flowing. In order to give you the freedom to focus on just that, they make you repeat simple patterns of just a few notes in each hand, which I'm sure pretty much anyone can pull off. Even if you're a complete beginner, with a little bit of work you most likely will be able to play the meditations.

Learning Continuous Music just learned of him today and I’ve been frantically trying to find out how to study continuous music technique. I can’t express to you the joy I felt discovering your channel, and in particular read more of your experience through this comment. Thank you for sharing your journey, it’s very inspiring for those of us trying to start ours.
