Hey Anne, I've been your fan for a while now. It has been a terrible week, one of the worst of my life, and I'm still going to be fighting for some time to come. But I'm finally able to relax, and your videos are such a comfort and mood lift. And it feels a little silly sometimes to admit that a KZbin fragrance video is a helpful tool for my mental health journey. But its not silly because to me its not just a review. Fragrance is a sensory comfort to me, every bottle in my collection is aromatherapy to my nose. Your descriptions are beautiful and transportive, the way one bottle is a texture, one a place, one an emotion, one an aesthetic, and another a character. It's like they're magic potions and you, a modern day apothecary. It opens me up to fragrances in a fresh way, and when I discuss with others I'm proud to say I sound a little like you. I hope you recognize that you're making art that brings positivity to people's lives, at least this Hoosier girl on the struggle bus. And I think I'll copy this and post for Lauren Mae to read as well, because I feel the same way about her work and can never decide which two of you is my very favorite KZbinr. Having a fan girl moment.

I love this comment. Content creators and creatives in general can be understandably disconnected from their audience and the context in which their work is being watched and enjoyed. It's important to give them feedback so they get a visceral response and a clear image of an individual viewer. I love that you wrote this for Anne. And I totally understand how the most seemingly superficial, silly things actually initiate the most epic, positive change in a person's life; when I was recovering from surgery it was real estate videos and period dramas that helped. When you're down or struggling in life the last thing you need is something that keeps you wallowing, stewing and suffocating in an echo chamber. You need brightness, lightness, creatively inspiring, evocative FUN to get you out of a funk or genuine turmoil. I like imagining all the different lives my fellow viewers are living; not everybody is 'living their best life' ALL the time, y'know. Hang in there dude. Everything passes and you'll be on the other side of it one day.💪

Hardly anybody mentions the meditative, calming feeling imparted by Xerjoff's Shunkoin. Next to Milky Musk, Gris Charnel, Bo and my selection of Japanese incense, it's my favourite gentle warm sweet woody fragrance. Do you enjoy Shunkoin too? The other woods I enjoy don't fit this particular category, they're a little too beastly and intense, which is easily done in the 'woody' category.

Ironically I just put several new decants on my arm before sitting down to relax and decompress with some fragrance content. When you got to Pacific Rock Moss, I literally said out loud..."I'm wearing that Anne!!!" haha. Hi Anne! Lovely video as always. I love how Bo smells like sequoia trees on a hot day. Have you ever tried Ella K's Cri du Kalahari? I just ordered a sample. Chris (The Perfume Nest) said it was as her most realistic wood scent. The note is baobab. :)

Festival/Carnival/County Fair/Farmers Market perfumes. Something out of a book of photographs or a movie scene. Meaning fragrance that enhances the experience of those outdoor, warm weather, fun, settings, has some likable sillage, and will not choke anyone out from the crowds or summery heat. Bonus for considering ideas like nighttime vs daytime, on a date vs with friends, literal transportive scents vs general mood boosters. I know you get what I’m putting down.

@@sleepybenzene I've scrutinised every bathroom snapshot in the image gallery and disappointingly, it's those big refillable bottles (which is why I made a naughty reference to decanting; it's easy to just go up the road to Daiso and get a little travel bottle and then return and pump away in merry abandon, ha!) I won't do it though. It's a rotten shameful thing to do, I mean if someone can afford two weeks in a 5 star hotel they shouldn't be pathetically decanting from the toiletries. There's enough free stuff in this hotel-- check it out: you can choose your own bar of soap from a lobby selection upon check in, so you can have exactly the scent you prefer. 💯😇

💚😅 right! I don't personally smell the ambergris in it, sometimes a fragrance will have a note listed that I hate but it luckily won't be detectable to me, or it's done in a different way that I appreciate :)

Yess I'm so happy to hear it!! 🥹 I have! For me, it was okay. A soft mango and rice is what I get mostly. Overall it’s a nice scent, but it doesn’t evoke any sort of emotion from me. Not a fan of the rice note, it doesn’t smell bad at all, I just don’t personally care for the note. I get a little bit of coconut and citrus in the opening .. I don't know it just didn't do anything for me, and the performance wasn't good either 😬

I find them quite different actually! Eau Duelle is more green, outdoorsy, unisex, Vanilla Planifolia is more creamy vanilla, romantic and feminine. I don't think I have a preference really, just depends on the vibe I'm going for, but Vanilla Planifolia does have better performance than Eau Duelle :) Also, fragrancesline.com has samples of both if you wanted to test them out! ❤️

I have! It ended up being a like. To me, it smells like Milky Musk 39 and Bond No 9 Tribeca had a baby. MM base, but with a super warm, creamy, powdery, buttery cacao, tonka giving it a little nuttiness, and coconut

I find them to be quite different! Apres has an evergreen experience, it's got the saffron and a light bourbon whiskey, Bo is heavier on the vanilla, and has a smooth resinous feel with a sweetened incense :)
