question: I have seen many racks like this in similar videos but one thing I don't get. How can they breath if the racks are sealed off by the bottom board of the rack above it?
@pwilliams587 жыл бұрын
They are not sealed, there is quiet a gap between the surface of the rack and the tub edge
@petrahulett6 жыл бұрын
That was they layer with small boards. They was just for extra space for fresh air

Really nice rack. The heating seemed to be a bit complicated to build, but the result is amazing. If I‘d be a snake, I surely would appreciate a home like this

Hi peter, you think you can give me the list of parts you used to make the heat panels? Thank you in advance
@sethzelenik16057 жыл бұрын
First let me say thank you for taking the time to make this video. It was a big help. Got a quick question. I copied this almost excacly for a ball python rack and I noticed I have a very slight buzzing sound coming from the heat tape. I checked all my connections and can't find anything loose. I have about 15 ft total of 4 in tape. Just wondering if this is normal. Thanks for any help
@thinknow41146 жыл бұрын
Seth Zelenik --Switch your thermostat to Pulse Proportional from Dimming to eliminate the humming sound. That’s what PP is for, metal racks...or in this case, metal heat panels.

Great work!! Man I could use a rack like that!
@joshualand20537 жыл бұрын
Cool build. Did you make the big cages too?
@pwilliams587 жыл бұрын
The wooden ones yes, not the aluminum cage or PVC cages.

I am new to bloods and they are amazing but I have only one . As i fell in love with ball pythons more. What can you recommend for an enclosure for a first time mamma for a blood. I Also bought a Jungle diamond carpet also amazing. Just looking for some great info on a great enclosure that won't cost so much.
@pwilliams586 жыл бұрын
You can keep young blood pythons similarly to ball pythons in a tub set up for the first 1-2 years of their life, the only difference being they prefer a slightly cooler hotspot, something around 86F. As your blood gets bigger I recommend getting a large tub set up like the ones I have here. Folks often use large christmas tree storage tubs to house adult bloods in lieu of these professional tubs I have here. I do not recommend 4 foot PVC enclosures as some use as it's much easier to get a blood python out of tub, rather than the PVC enclosure, especially if they're acting a little grumpy.
@lorishinabarger39456 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much because I didn't want to sell her. She was born 2016 and I know this 40qt is to small. Thanks for the info on the enclosure because I was looking for a PVC cage but that makes sense. Thank you for taking the time to help me Peter. Do you have any recommendations for Carpets?
@pwilliams586 жыл бұрын
Most carpets will do well in a 2'x4'x18" PVC.

I actually created these racks based on a ball python rack in the first place. if you google "bailey reptiles cb-70 rack" and click the first link you'll see the full tutorial on how to make it.
