A couple of things I've found with the defence. If you have all your defenders in a straight line and put defence on a fullback, that fullback will often play the other team onside, so if you do this then slightly position that fullback higher. It only has to be slightly. Also people say no more than 1 destroyer at the back, but if you space them out they work fine. You can even play 3 CB destroyers and 1 fullback and it works well, but if you put them close together they will fight each other for the ball. It's important to put deep line on your defensive midfielder if you play more than 1 destroyer though.

Last patch I used LMF as Wingbacks in a 4231, so that I have more attacking wing players. They definitely defended deeper and helped more in build up. W video idea.

One thing u could improve in the test is only use players with playstile off, to avoid possible interferences. Other than that, very good test!

You didn't understand the test mate. 1st inactive playstyles have still an effect. 2nd it's about the positions of the SAME player, he can have whatever playstyles he wants, you will still see the same differences of the position editing effect

@@mednasah no, i get that. What i meant is that the style can influence the positioning. For example, a fox in the box will be naturally more inside the box than a deep lying forward, even if u move them up or down in the pitch formation. Maybe if kaka were classic 10 or neymar were roaming flank, we could see different results? I dont know, thats the point, its a variable in the equation.

I believe that positioning in defence is mostly decided by players' def. awareness, to cover opponent players and zonal holes. That's why you have less effect on defensive than offensive positioning in almost all positions.

I make use of our normal ISPs: Mtn to be precise and i have a pocket WiFi as well(airtel) but i think everything is down to Konami's server because getting a signal strength above 2 bar is rare. Playing with the normal phone network is poor because it's too laggy and more reasons why the pocket WiFi helps alot.

What i have noticed is the horizontal position depends more on the players playstyle then where u placed on formation but the formation position is more in effect when vertical this is very noticeable in midfield

I’ve only gone as far as min 6 but I think it’s worth making a point. Yes, the position of the defenders changes only in possession, but when you get counter attacked, it’ll still make a difference because they’ll need to perform a different path to get into whatever shape the ai wants

But maybe try with possession style or outwide to really see some big difference . Plus the type of player is important I think orchestrator or clasic number 10 gonna act differently then a hole player or creative playmaker at different position like you show us high or low , central or wide.
