Pinching lifts the flesh off the muscle, reducing needle into the muscle. Z-track is better As it presses the flesh against the muscle and prevents back leakage. Entry at 90 degrees. Pinching the flesh is used for subcutaneous injections at 45 degree angle.

Yes, you are right. However, if the patient muscle mass is not that much, you can pinch the muscle to prevent the needle from reaching all the way upto the bone.

Most people do not bleed from injections. But some people can bleed a little bit from the site of injection. Therefore, we can ask the person to gently apply pressure for a minute or so on the injection site.

Yes. S/C and I/M are two different types of injections. But we can pinch squeeze the area in both cases. In case of S/C injection, the needle of the syringe is usually very short, hence it remains in subcutaneous tissue only.

Deltoid Muscle (Arm). If Deltoid is very small in size, like in very thin people, go for Gluteus Muscle (Buttock). Tetanus injection is also given in buttock, so that the pain that occurs later is less.
