Pseudo-Apollodorus, Bibliotheca 2. 46 (trans. And Medusa didn't want to hurt anybody. Batman continued to make her feel weak and ugly just like a lot of the red pill movement which would shame women for their high body count or their body which was abused if they were human trafficked... The red pill movement seems to be all about looking at what happened to a woman and not necessarily how that transformed her life. It's about the soul. An interesting in biblical times people were stoned for various sexual sins, and is interesting that Medusa had that power to Stone men, but she didn't want to it was only in self-defense that she would because her soul was still beautiful and just broken she was just so misunderstood.

It isn't supposed to be right, or even fair. The greek gods didn't pretend to be moral or even human in their appetites (as the one god of abraham does...) and did as they found best... Thus the tales and moral of greek mythology are open to debate, but it is a debate that can only fully be explored if you are aware of all the baseline rules, laid down when the world was created and the gods wrested the control of the earth from the titans. That being said, Athena, goddess of wisdom, was rather subtle in her revenge... One of the rules is that no god can undo the actions of another, and that the three major gods; Zeus, Poseidon and Hades are not to be punished, but another one of the rules is that three women united in common purpose creates a powerful arcane trinity. (you see this with Hecate, the three-faced goddess of magic, and with every witches coven in classic and modern literature) and what wasn't mentioned was that Medusa reunited with Stheno and Euryvale, her monstrous gorgon sisters and from then on, the three became a terror of Seriphos. I'll give you three guesses as to which god was primarily being worshipped on the island of Seriphos, so there has been some rather awkward silence when Poseidons hands are tied, when he can't answer the prayers of his worshippers, when they ask for help to combat the three goddamn mythological female terminators who owned whatever they surveyed and kicked whatever ass they goddamn well pleased... So was Medusa cursed, is was she transformed in order to enact revenge against a god? It was only when Polydectes, king of Seriphos and famed serial rapist set up Perseus to be killed by Medusa, so he could have his way with Perseus' mother Dänäe afterwards, that Athena decided to help Perseus kill Medusa (and considering the absurdly gruesome fates that usually befalls greek characters) by having her decapitated in her sleep, never knowing what hit her. Perseus eventually brings the head back to the court of Polydectes, where Medusas' power turns the rapeking and his entire court of supporters into stone.

She had the higher power but the people now force to make Medusa become the human, weak and be raped, then cursed. Wasn't Medusa already a baddie gorgon just like her sisters in the original greek myth as mentioned in the Illiad I suppoes. This version actually came out during the Romans where an author wanted to portray how he was being abused by the authorities or smth like that. There isnt like 'true story' for myth because myths are myths, there can be variations. And these gods were portrayed by the men of those times. I mean its already obvious that this version is latter one by tge fact Medusa being only mortal while her parents and siblings being immortals

Many stupids like to create stories about cursing Medusa and being jealous of Arachne, which are still done by the Roman goddess. Minerva is Minerva. She and Athena are not the same god. The Romans forcibly mapped Minerva to Athena to confuse some people, thinking that they have different names from the same gods. Athena helped Cassandra punish the rapist anyone know? Does Athena help women who were forced into marriage escape? Does anyone know? Not to mention good things, but there are a lot of rumors. Although the description of Perseus was added 100 years after it was written. Where her appearance was altered. She was never raped. She never had snakes for hair. She never turned people to stone. Medusa was actually depicted and worshiped as a Centauress before a Patriarchal society changed her story. Yes, half horse half human female.
