I've ALWAYS found it awkward and inappropriate for ADULTS to be asking kids if they have a girlfriend or boyfriend. I've seen adults do this to kindergarteners. Or if they have friends from the opposite sex they try to sexualize it and make it a boyfriend/girlfriend thing. I've even see babies who can't talk be sexualized for their oral fixations. Adults are messed up and are ruining children. The fact that this grown man would engage in that convo with a child and then be incapable of seeing why it's inappropriate, is deeply disturbing and shows how much society had normalized this behaviour. I'm very grateful that the younger generation sees the problem with this and I hope because of how aware these kids are, less of them will be abused.
