I remember in the 90s when notable, famous and wealthy artists would battle no named artists LIVE in front of everyone! Dudes today are so scared to lose for fear it will end their career we rarely see anything like that. Check out blazing rap battles, which featured artists like KRS One, and RZA battling street dudes with no careers and limited fame. Back in the day hip hop had a manly bravado, now dudes throw rocks and hide their hands or come to studios unprepared because they know their brainwashed fans lack the fortitude to criticize. I remember an interview with Eminem about the topic of being on point in hip hop. He stated that if a pop star gets on stage and fucks up the crowd claps and tells them its ok and keeps screaming and yelling and admiring the artists they enjoy. But if a hip hop artist fucks up on stage the crowd boos. The ONLY way you'll see hip hoppers get booed these days is in the toughest of the toughest venues like Rock the Bells or 90% of the venues in the UK. In short, American hip hop fans suck now.
