Meekness and majesty Manhood and deity In perfect harmony The Man who is God Lord of eternity Dwells in humanity Kneels in humility And washes our feet Oh what a mystery Meekness and majesty Bow down and worship For this is your God This is your God Father's pure radiance Perfect in innocence Yet loves obedience To death on a cross Suffering to give us life Conquering through sacrifice And as they crucified, pray's "Father forgive" Oh what a mystery Meekness and majesty Bow down and worship For this is your God This is your God Wisdom unsearchable God the invisible Love indestructible In frailty appears Lord of infinity Stopping so tenderly Lifts our humanity to the heights of His throne Oh what a mystery Meekness and majesty Bow down and worship For this is your God This is your God This is your God

Wonderful and biblical Gospel song about the Lord's incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection, humility, and exaltation, personality, and deity.

Praise Him! Came over to this from a Derek Prince sermon that will also bless you called Father God. He gets emoitional at the end of the sermon and says all the great hymns are not in the past, he thanks God for Graham Kendrick, as do I, right now! Thank you Father God!

Thank you for sharing that - it's one of DP's sermons I've not come across, so I'll definitely check it out. Yes, Graham Kendrick was certainly a Spirit filled song writer /worship leader. I grew up singing his songs in church, but they fell out of "fashion" in the late 90s. I'm enjoying re-discovering them again, along with sermons by people like Derek Prince and Roger Price 😊

Does our faith reduce to such an array of mindless cliches as this?
@trishcopland86803 жыл бұрын
It is a song Rhodius, with lyrics that fit the short melodic phrases. Meanwhile you have the whole Bible to read and study.

@@trishcopland8680 I have said elsewhere that all of this song puts me off certain expressions of Christianity and that has not changed. I think reading the Bible as you enjoin would only further convince me that songs like this have nothing to do with Christ and that I do not believe in your God.

I have clashed profoundly about it before but have you ever tried to work out the distortion of Christs very being which is engendered by singing another lyric by the same man? The Servant King...the Bible never called Him that and His hands did not exist prior to the stars which He allegedly flung into space and He was born of a woman full of grace and truth which we beheld and grew in stature and wisdom with God and man...helpless is not how I would describe Him. Thinking has made very bad sense of the preincarnate Logos that made the world and confused Christs physical coming with a phantom descent from Heaven. Other hymns try the same trick but Kendrick stretches things to breaking point. I dont believe ever that our faith should be vandalised by such received ideas of crucial points in the Creed yet modern Christian's lap them up without ever exercising critical judgment about what these songs say. It's no use to say that the musics good and why bother about the message...error has no rights.

I have never doubted that this is a song as you simply but it's also a song with words that people treat as if it speaks the truth about God. It's a pile of adjectives and empty phrases that sound so good until you try to work out if they mean anything at all. The advertising world calls them resounding non statements and my faith means more than them, No need to respond but I have made my unease at this strain in religious music more than clear.

Nothing divides people more than this wretched Contemporary Christian Music. The flak from it makes me never want to hear it again. Thanks to Covid that might be happening.

The cliche ridden kitschmeister at it again. The imagery is miserably devoid of any real implication. It puts me off certain expressions of Christianity.
@@cheburrell2890 Hi happy to have struck some chords about Kendrick, If you wish to enumerate any of your own thoughts on his music and doctrinal deviancy then please let me hear them, Thsnks for the confidence,
