I met Pocahontas and Meeko in Disney's Animal Kingdom in February 2012. It was great meeting all of the characters in Disney World. I missed some characters I should have met. But still,it was a great time there. My parents drove me there in just 12 hours! (Great Scott! That's long,and heavy!)

Hi Mike, Yes, you’re correct, it’s so important to never pet a working guide dog. The exception is if you ask permission from the handler, in this case Tommy, it’s OK if the handler grants permission. In that case, then the handler is aware that people are petting their dog. The main concern about petting a working dog is if you do it when the handler is unaware, you could distract the dog at a time when it’s critical and you could endanger the disabled person. Thanks for making others aware of this very important rule, you must have some guide dog experience?
