Philips AirFryer Review | Is This The BEST Compact Air Fryer?

Just picked this up because I'm now cooking for one and the price was right. So, some dumb questions, if you please. Can I dehydrate fruit and veggies in this? Also, how I do know how long to cook frozen fish sticks, chicken, etc? Thanks in advance.

There is no such thing as dumb questions when it comes to air fryers, lol.😍 1) There is no preset dehydrate option, but you can set the temp manually to the lowest temp. This air fryer has the lowest temp of 145F, and fruits usually dehydrate at 135-145°F. 2) Frozen fish sticks, 400F for 8-10 minutes 3) Frozen breaded chicken 400F 12-15 minutes, depending on size. Good review. I thought you weren’t supposed to use oil to cook drumsticks.Is spritzing the same?

For the fries, try not using salt before but only after the cook. And when you cut them, put them in a bowl full of water for half an hour, twisting them from time to time; they will lose part of their amid and qill cook better. Remember to dry them before putting in the fryer

I have never heard of Russell Taylors unfortunately. In my opinion, it's best to go with a brand that has a reputable name and good customer service. There have been multiple recalls of air fryers so it's best to go with a worldwide renowned brand.

What are the 13 in 1 they advertise this as? There are not 13 functions

You're right, this model only has 9 cooking functions. They are probably re-using a description from another model because they also refer to 'Air Fry, Bake Broil, etc.' and they are not included on this model either. Homemade fries = 1 Drumsticks = 2 Meat chops = 3 Breakfast = 4 Muffin = 5 Frozen Veggies = 6 Fish filet =7 Frozen fries = 8 Keep Warm = 9

I just got my Philips 2000, 6 1/2 qt size. It replaced an Instant Pot brand Vortex model that cost me $150 plus tax. This new one only $80 plus. The basket size looks same as 6 qt instant Vortex. Outside dimensions are somewhat smaller.

you can try, chicken breast will be dry though, you might be OK with drumsticks, thighs and wings since they have a lot of juices. If not oil, try adding mayo or tahini?

@@Phoenix5uper The idea of air fryer is little to no oil compared to deep frying. you can spray on a little oil, that also helps to crisp the food. Hope that helps. 😊

No, I think it’s a great feature to have. Every air fryer should have one, it saves opening and checking causing the temp to fluctuate. 😁

There are 4 small silicone tabs on the crisper tray, just like every other basket air fryer has to prevent the tray from scratching the basket.
