Rebecca Miller, a quality control engineer with GE Aviation, describes the work of manufacturing engineering and the reasons why she finds her field rewarding. The SME Education Foundation, AMT-the Association for Manufacturing Technology, and Modern Machine Shop collaborated to produce and distribute this video as part of an effort to help educators explain manufacturing careers to young people. The video is being sent on DVD, along with a discussion guide, to about 4,800 middle schools and high schools. Filming and video production by Creative Technology Corp.

@@prajo9578 and production engineering is split into two groups: Manufacturing and Test engineers. Quality engineering is not the same thing as production engineering.

Your definition for turning was nice, but the milling definition is way off or misleading when you mention flat surfaces. Why not just say it like in the turning?

How was her description of milling misleading? She said, "After the Turning operation we send it off to the milling to drill a couple of holes". Don't act like milling requires more skill man.

It wasn't what she said about milling, it is what was on the caption. A mill doesn't just cut flat surfaces.
