Smells like candles a mile away. Dogs are chewing on the curbs for a waxy treat. Mr. Miyagi goes there to show his karate students how to "wax on and never wax off".

Love seeing Abe get the shine he deserves. This may sound cliche but he really is the most humble, nicest dude. Used to skate Costco in the mornings when curb control crew was wrapping up their session and he would always smile, wave, say good morning. Wont help on curbs but when breaking in a new ledge bring a bmx dude. Bmx dudes can monster truck the roughest ledges and the pegs smooth it out enough to make it workable for skaters. Theres a ledge near my house that was untouched for a long time until I brought my bike to it now theres skaters there a lot.

Legend! I got into curb skating when they closed the skate parks during the pandemic, and seeing dudes like Abe and Ira just destroying curbs with crazy combo grinds had me stoked so much. The ((The Video)) series are such a vibe, and seeing Abe alongside Ronnie Creager, probably my favorite skater in my youth, is a beautiful thing to behold.

I remember watching this when I was wearing a younger man's clothes, that thread the needle manual.. I skated with Abe quite a bit in ‘92-‘94 in Cape Coral/Ft Myers! He always had a very smooth/effortless style. We all skated at drive through banks a lot. Curbs were super waxed! Abe used to do backflips off stuff. That whole crew of SW Florida skaters was transient but so many good skaters never got sponsored. The only one I remember getting flowed free wheels/decks was Joe Weirda. Toxic skates! Shout out to Abe, the Weirda bros, the Wigginton bros, Mike Stein, Elissa(Giz)Steamer, Matt Gee, Lovey Lee Wells, Mark Taddeo, Mike James, Ryun Horn, Tim Walker, Steve Rogers, Scott Rigby, Allen Dean Russell, rabbit, Dan Meacham, Matt Milligan… so many I forget.

When my and my friends started skating in 87 skating curbs was all we really had. Stockport being shitty and wet. Shit moved along and all but now I’m pushing 50 I’m’back to the past. Curbs and mini ramps are the way to let us do what we need in the age of shitty knees.
