One of my pigs Snowball used to SO SHY every time I even walked in the room he would biles to is little house and if I fed him or gave him a treat he would always run away and I just left it in his cage and he would come out and get it a minute or two after and I would literally have to chase him for like 5 minutes just to hold him but then he liked it after I picked him up but now I just started holding him a lot and interacting with him more and now he run up to me when I walk in the room and he still runs a bit when I try to pick him up but now it’s more of a playful way and eventually he stops to let me pick him up ❤️

How has your journey with MBD went? I have a bearded dragon who has it (I rescued him from someone I know who hadn’t cared for him for months). I never wanted a beardy and literally cannot hold him still (my boyfriend handles him for me!) but I feel so bad for him and his twisty little leg! I’m so worried about giving him enough calcium etc so it doesn’t worsen 😩 I wish there was a cure!

I started watching you in the Spring/Summer and you’re a good part of the reason why I decided to get guinea pigs. I purchased 2 females off of Craigslist impulsively, and it honestly took me a bit to get used to their neediness. Or what gets keeps them happy, enrichment, etc. Seeing how many you’ve gotten since honestly makes me want to get one more. Especially since I have enough room. & oddly, I’m contemplating buying one from Petco or Petsmart. I’m aware of the dangers or possible troubles, but it’s just something in me that would prefer to get it myself than a parent getting it for a kid and it not receiving a good life. Sorry for rambling btw 😭 just glad you’re still going strong in the hobby. Edit: also, so many people aren’t even aware how long guinea pigs can live. 5 to 8 years is really a long time honestly.
@fitzguineavision2 жыл бұрын
I know you mentioned something about buying one from petco or petsmart, but really adopting or rescuing is so much more fulfilling, I know that having an animal come from possible horrible background can be terrifying but honestly, by purchasing an animal from the petstore your supporting breeding mills. And thats just my opinion. Props to you for adopting two guinea pigs from Craigslist though. # I do not support impulse purchases of animals, it's always important to do research about the animal ahead of time.
@mistereljae2 жыл бұрын
@@fitzguineavision I’m well aware of the fact that a lot of those animals in big-name pet stores aren’t necessarily bred to be the healthiest.. but there’s always a possibility that you can give them a longer life. I would purchase one from Petco or Petsmart so that someone irresponsible wouldn’t. In my opinion, it’s like how so many people know the many shady maneuvering that some animal shelters do. & those people try their hardest to give those dogs, cats, etc, great homes. Also, I do agree not ever impulsively purchasing an animal. However, I was not completely a stranger to Guinea Pig care. But yes, if you don’t have any knowledge of an animal; research first. & thank you for the feedback xx

@@fitzguineavision another thing is how many guineas off of Craigslist are actually purchased from pet stores or improper breeding 🥲 they’re literally amazing & fascinating animals. hopefully one day ppl will grow out of the phase of just getting them bc they’re cute

This is the second video I watch from you, and already love your channel!💕 However, I really don’t agree with the “my previous guinea pig was from Petco, so I have to buy my next piggie from Petco” thing… I don’t know if you know it, but the small animals from Petco and Petsmart are from big breeding mills, where they are bred in the most horrible conditions. I highly recommend researching more about it, because I know that if people know more about it, they will choose not to support it, cause it’s pretty cruel actually. If you, after researching about it, still think it’s okay to buy small animals from there, that’s completely up to you, but I just don’t agree. I also just wanna say that it’s okay to make mistakes, because everyone does it, it’s okay to admit that you made a mistake and learn from it. :) I hope I don’t sound rude, or I make you feel bad, I tried to be as nice as possible.

In the case of Pip and Olive, Pip was my heart pig and a truly amazing pig to have owned. Therefore I felt to remember her best was to buy another petco pig to in a way honor her because she was the best pig I have ever owned and she was a petco pig. I know very well about petco and chain stores and their mass breeding but again for me at the time it was the best way I could commemorate her. Out of all the pigs I’ve owned only 2 have been purchased. The other 10+ were rescues.

@@k.bsworldofpets4574 I kind of understand it, but at the same time I don’t. But if it really helped you with dealing with the dead of Pip, I’m happy it helped you and you did a great job by rescuing the others.

Yeah just thought i would tell if oliva/olive the guinea pig is still alive she may be a cuy. Anyways you said you bought olive in 2019 and petco had a cuy outbreak in 2018 to 2019 or 2020 i believe.But a cuy is a breed of guinea pig from peru that are bred to be human food in peru and are not 100% considered guinea pigs but they are about twice the size of the average guinea pig as well as possibily the second largest ''guinea pig'' breed in the world getting up to 14 or 16 inches and weigh around 4 to 8 pounds with the average guinea pig weighing 2 to 3 pounds .And they are usually solid orange or white as well as occasionally tan and black like yours they also have big ears that flop own like yours and can have a cest on the head and there all also muscular and extremely large.
@livnishtiselcohen2523 жыл бұрын
Oh and you said shes a biter wich a cuy is know to do.
@livnishtiselcohen2523 жыл бұрын
Sorry to bother you again but thinking about it daffy could also be cuy especially since you said you believe she was rescued from a hording situation which is the whole reason there was cuy outbreak because they where being horded and they where overpopulating and over bred plus you said that she does't like being held which i may or may not of said are known to bite,be shy,untamed,anxious,and flighty plus she has the white cuy colors but they cooled just be really big piggies like my 1 girl.
@k.bsworldofpets45743 жыл бұрын
I don’t think either are cuy due to their sizes, they are both petite in size! But good thought, Jackson one of my past boars was believed to be a cuy.
