I could worship you right now. Like, you are speaking so much of my truth it's not even funny. I love snakes so much. People ask me all the time, "why snakes? Why do you love them so much? Why do you want more?" And it's hard to answer. There's just thic peace thst comes over me when I'm with my snakes. Like a kind of therapy. They're beautiful. They're inquisitive. Letting them weave in between my hands and holding them is to me the same as why some people keep a stress ball at their desk. Because they feel good to handle. And being able to care for them and watch them grow is so rewarding. I swear I feel like a kid on Christmas when I wake up and see that one of my snakes has shed out. Metamora is so pretty. Can't wait to see how she continues to grow and change. And it's nice to know thst Bloom was flighty with you when he was younger too. I have a baby corn snake I've had since June, and I feel like he hates me. Handling him always seems to stress him out. He won't even eat from tongs anymore. So I put his feeders on a flat rock in his enclosure that serves as like a serving dish. And just like you, my first experience owning a bp was terrible. Mine hated life as well. Any time I came in the room he would find the darkest corner and hide out of sight. He didn't seem to terribly mind handling. But the act of me taking him out seemed to stress him. But after he was out he was fine... other than the fact thst half the time he seemed to try to find an escape route. He also had feeding issues. So... I decided to find him a better home. My other bp is just like Chaos. She's such a sweet heart and hardly misses a week for eating. She's an axanthic, so I call her my silver angel. Bowie is so beautiful. I'd love to get a rainbow boa some day, but I might get a Columbian, as I like the more muted colors.

Snake have all different personalities but I rather respect and not have one who maybe little skittish. I been bitten once and it can happen if you got snakes, it's something to expect and it normal if it does. I just don't feel comfortable or chill to get a tree python at the moment.

I do have some questions regarding cornsnakes! How would you recommend for handling a corn baby? Mine is about 7 weeks old and so scared. Also UvB: My corn never comes out during the day and I don´t want to have this bright light on in the evening when he´s out, it might fuck up his day/night schedule...right?
@Living.Fossils4 жыл бұрын
Well I'm honestly not sure I want to move out so bad so I can get some snakes and geckos
@reptiliangarden4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend short handling sessions so that you aren’t over stressing your snake out. They typically calm down over time with handling. As for uvb, that won’t throw off a day night cycle for your snake as long as you have it off during the night time. Your snake may come out more for some uvb exposure during the day which can be beneficial!

@reptiliangarden4 жыл бұрын
They can! If you are timid and not confident with handling, it can make your snake more fearful as well. It’s important to make sure if you are nervous, that you are still fully supporting their body and can make them feel safe.

Your Brazilian rainbow boa are so beautiful and nice size . Yea I hurd they get 5-6ft some tend to get even 7ft if we'll fed in kept .what are you feeding her ? At her size I'm suggesting large or jumbo rat easily . And love ya corn too decent but they just so small to me and boring cus they do skinny and can't eat nothing bigger then a medium even 5-6 ft corn will only consume in be able to devour a medium rat but a ball python same size or a Brazilian rainbow boa like you have will eat large in Jumbo's . But how will you compare a Brazilian rainbow boa to ball python in size ? Both fully grown . And if I get a rat snake it will be a indigo and a bullsnake they large enough for me to give them Jumbo's so I can feed them how I will feed a ball or one of these Brazilian rainbow boas like one you have . But first this summer I wanna buy a dumerils boa and carpet python both as hatchling I even want a eastern Diamondback rattlesnake , kaboon vipers and ,tiger snake , bushmaster but they are poisonous or venomous in I like handling so I'm scared to get them .

What type of bedding do you suggest for a ball Python? While mines small he’ll be in a bin. But as he grows he’ll be upgraded to a tank. I feel they like the darker more quite secluded areas more when they’re juveniles. I would love to hear your opinion on substrate and encloser set up’s throughout each stage. The only downside for me so far is I have to breed my own rats/mice because there’s just no supply around here. Sure I can sell them easy enough to others in demand. But to me it’s more of a hassle than it’s worth. And takes up a lot more space.
