It makes perfect sense! Reducing N is a good idea as the 'green' chlorophyl producing gene is always more dominant and vigorous by trait. If youre slamming N and pushing growth hard, the dominant chlorophyl producing gene is likely to take over with continued high N. These kinda vids are priceless from such an expert.

Stunning! ......What Beautiful variations on these plants. It is mind blowing the amount of work that goes into producing all these variants....even at the very beginning, with 1 chance seedling or 1 leaf that show a slight variation. Thanks Sean.....only just subscribed to your channel and am enjoying binging on so many vlogs. I have not noticed any vlogs dedicated to sanseverias......there are many on youtube but in Indonesian. Would love to see you do a couple as there is an incredible variety and many hybrids and mutations. A particular favorite of mine as well as anthuriums. I live in West Australia and dont have the number of growers/ hybridisers as in Asia, so I dont get to see all the amazing and stunning variety of plants I love.

There was a viral video of Mr. Noldi. Because of that beautiful specimen of Monstera Mint. When it won the competition it has all mint leaves without/very minimal green patches ❤ now they call it white mint.

''Super Orange'', ''Thai Constellation Crème Brulée'' and ''Yellow Marilyn'' are new favourites! I'm wondering if these will ever hit the market in America and Canada... wish they do as prices seem to go down quickly once collectors here start propagating! Speaking of propagation, my ''Thai Constellation'' (first rare plant I bought a year ago) is almost big enough for propagation, so I might start making money instead of only spending..!

@@onlyplants You were absolutely right! I've encountered ''Yellow Marilyn'' online last summer as well as 'Green on Green'', ''White Monster'' and ''Oceana'' aka ''Ocean Mint'' in person last week. This seller I met last week had a crazy collection and he even had different forms of the deliciosa like Sierrana, Brasil and Macrocosm! For the record, his ''White Monster'' propagates seemed to be reverting as well. Completely unrelated but he also had a non-TC Spiritus Sancti whose leaves were much darker than the TC ones (even growing in the same room), the leaves were almost black and had this velvety look... I want one now that I've seen it in person but it's $10K...

The one plant shop I occasionally buy my plants from usually uses baby wipes to clean water stains off the leaves. I would give it a try but not for the under sides of the plants. Great video

12:47 as far as I know the white monster is suposed to stard with completely white leves and then fades down to a minty kinda thing and end up fading down more to kompletely green. the white monster never stays minty!

I have found that when I water my variegated plants (money tree, monstera also) with urea (high nitrogen one you use for leafy vegetables) the leaves get so big and I always, I mean ALWAYS, get a prettier variegation on new leaves. I also make sure that they do get super bright indirect light (I had mine also facing direct) to achieve that (thank you SO much for telling the secret on your other vid). The variegated ones outside my balcony are so showy. The ones indoor while they get so big and leafy, I don’t have much variegation on new leaves.

Very cool tour, and beautiful plants. One quick question; we converted a Deliciosa to aquatic roots (planted in a 65gal tank), and the growth rate went up by a drastic amount. We're getting 1 new full leaf every week, and about 2' per month (31", to be exact). Is this level of growth normal?

Not normal haha. But is there nutrients in the tank? Perhaps from fish… its probably getting good light too

@@onlyplants It's a fully stocked tank, so definitely lots of nutrients from the fish. I use pothos and a few other plants as partial filters to reduce the frequency of water changes. It does have decent light, all artificial though (overhead LED grow strips). I'm just wondering how to slow the growth somewhat without damaging it, the roots have taken over 1/3 of the tank in 45 days, and have now reached the substrate (approx. 3' from where the plant enters the water)

@@onlyplants I actually saw a monstera aurea that had just unfurled and had that lime green pattern and thought I wanted the Aurea, before I found out that once the leaf hardens it becomes a yellow. The GoG has the lime green and I just adore it! All variegation is beautiful but my personal favorites are the good ole classic green monstera and the GoG.

Very informative especially on the part that too much nitrogen makes them less variegated. Probably that’s why my high variegated tissue culture Thai con turned to be so green. I’ll use less nitrogen and see if the variegation improves. Thanks!
