Ro, a lot of people will tell you, what to do and whats right and whats wrong, but after a few weeks you will figure out that is right for Cookie, it might be different then what the Vet said or what you read online, But Cookie will tell you in her own way, what she really needs, and you'll figure it out as you go along, there ones thing dogs and people are the same way in, each one is different, not all Frenchies are the same. Just like any puppy or child, its how you raise will tell how they are as adults, with love and care, and even a few mistakes I believe she will be a wonderful dog.

I just wanted to tell you that the tiny pink harness you got for cookie will most likely break. If your on a walk with her she might pull and break it because French Bulldogs are powerful. I would recommend a harness for the brand Bark Apparel. When it comes to dog items they are my family's go to brand. We've gotten my dog Penny (A Morkie) many things from there. Okay Ro. I work with dogs for a living and I've got something to say........THANK YOU. You've actually done your research and gotten everything you could possibly need to PROPERLY take care of your puppy! (You're the first KZbinr I've seen that has). I know by now Cookie is almost 11 months, but I just wanted to share how impressed I am that you took so many steps to ensure her health is taken care of! The ONLY thing I'd recommend is to switch from the bristle brush to a rubber brush. The rubber is what's really going to help pull some of that hair out (so you don't have to use the sharp Furminator tool as much) and because it's rubber it's extremely gentle on the skin whereas the bristle brush (as well as the Furm. brush) have the potential to give her brush burn. Anyways, I LOVE seeing Cookie pop up in your videos (frenchies are one of my favorite breeds!) and you make a wonderful puppy parent!

All my prayers go out to you because of such hard times. I lost my cat back in October of 2017 and I miss her so much. I know how hard it is. I sucks and I wished that I could’ve done something to prevent it but I know that my cat was suffering. I know that now she is in a better place now with all the other pets who went to heaven, especially yours.

Congratulations! I like that food scooper/bag clip. You can stick to Natural Choice if you want to because it's one of the healthier and better quality brands of dog food. I'm surprised you were told to bathe her once a week b/c it was always to my knowledge that frequent baths dry out a dog's skin despite softer shampoos. I give mine baths once a month. You're very prepared and you adopted her the right way (including the adoption itself instead of supporting a puppy mill). Thanks for being the good puppy mommy that you already are! Can't wait to see more of Cookie :) Have fun with her!

It's the breed of the dog :) her dog is prone to skin problems when not bathed about once a week to every two weeks because of all the fd in the skin. U want to keep the dirt and oil build up off. Most breeds it's every 4-6 weeks for baths tho :)

Hi Ro, I am on a level 3 animal care course which has a unit for dog grooming...... I wouldn't recommend you wash your puppy too often cause it can cause her more problems with her skin as her natural oils wont be able to moisturise her skin... then she's more susceptible for having dandruff or even worse ex-ma. If your washing her its better to use a hair dryer to dry her as if you let the water dry of "naturally" her fur will smell as you've let all the bacteria re-grow on her skin, I would also recommend using a rubber brush for short haired dogs as it is softer on their skin. oh and the de-shedder is a life saver..... I have a lab he moults like their is no tomorrow ..... Hope the puppy and you are fine :3

Hey Ro, first of all, Cookie is really really cute. I love her little face :) But you know, you don't need a toothbrush and toothpaste for your dog. And a dog shouldn't be "overwashed", if he doesn't have really long fur. Dogs should be washed approx. 2 - 4 times in a year maximum. I just wanted to share my opinion with you. be careful you don't "overcare" your lil cute puppy. Have much fun with her!

Yeah, dogs don't need their teeth brushed. However once you start supposedly it is bad to stop continuing, it either has to be constant or nothing, not in between :)

Mary Cardenas It CAN be, but it is definitely nothing that's necessary. Except the dog has dental calculus and/or it's prescribed by a vet.

I do understand your concern about people "overcaring" their puppies and dogs, however showering your dog once a month is completely fine no matter what breed it is. The "only 2-4 times a year tops" statement is a little TOO much! It's so individual from dog to dog, some never need showers while some needs them every week so the best thing is to speak to your veterinary for advice. :)

that bathing thing is a little far-fetched, because i bathe my dog around 1-2 times a month. it just depends on the breed and the type of fur. also, my pup likes to get dirty outside a lot, so it just wouldnt be reasonable to only bathe her twicea year :)

Congrats on the puppy and it's really nice to see how excited you are and how much you wanna do right by your dog! Love it! I have two recommendations :) ear cleaning wipes for the inside of the ears, and toe nail clippers. Oh and you probably already have one and just didn't talk about it, but a puppy bed? Small dogs often like to have their own little safe spot/sanctuary that's just theirs (and big dogs too, actually!). A crate may be good for when you need to leave, and later on down the line having her crate trained with me very useful. Annddd my final idea is that I highly recommend dog classes and lots of socialization with dogs and people when she can, from an early age! Good luck, you guys are gonna be an awesome team!
