I wish my parents have sent my brother to Gurukul 30 years ago 😢😢😢 he is not serious about his life nor he has any affection towrds his family.. He is 30 yrs old and still dependent on our parents🙁🙁🙁. He does not habe any zeal to do anything bcs he is getting money from parents. I don't know how and when he became so emotionless 😭😭 this really hurts me.. And me n my family can't even discuss things with him bcs he gets angry and aggressive the very moment we say something😐😐😐.. Wt do we do.. Being an elder sister I'm worried about his future. 😕😕😕.. I wish he has been sent to Gurukul in his childhood days 😑😑😑😑

Swamis, I am a great devotee of Krishna ji, almost to the point you can call me a Hare Krishna too. Nevertheless, I feel you should give both kinds of education to your kid alongside and let him have a choice of his own (regarding which path to pursue) when growing up and making a choice as an adult. But it is nice they are learning Math and English.

I studied in a Vedic Gurukul for 5 years and then went to a cbse school till my 12th. I also went on the graduate with a graphic design diploma (3 years) which I'm using to operate this channel. For parents who want a balanced approach iskcon has a Gurukula in Vrindavan which follows the icse pattern and gives both a spiritual and material training. www.bgis.org To dedicate to spirituality was sole choice of mine. My personal experience of the modern education system was that it's considered a prerequisite to be employed in a job. Employers want to see a degree etc. it kind of limits the children's potential of thinking about anything other than a job. On the other hand with a little practical training, one can try his hand in small businesses or can become self sufficient depending on land and cows. One can live his passion as a musician and earn by teaching others etc. There are many possibilities. Regarding this particular student (damodar) his parents want him to dedicate himself to preaching the Vedic lifestyle and showing the path of simplicity and peace in spirituality. He is also aware of this choice and till now is accepting it. We can consider him a teacher in the future. Im confident of his future career. We need real Brahmanas to revive the Vedic Culture
